I must say, I enjoyed your avatar a lot more before you made the addition.

As for as Amazon's shipping, the speed and efficiency with which they get their products out has dropped considerably over the last year or so ... namely because they deal so much now with third-party supply-chain-management places. If they're too slow on the ball, completely screw up an order, or just flat out never say anything, Amazon will now just direct you to the "company" that re-sold and shipped you the product that you, nevertheless, ordered from their site.

I'm sure they've maximized their profits by doing this, but at the cost of all our sore rear orifices.
 
WTF?! They have my copy of Advent Children set to 'shipping soon' and they aren't saying shit about Aht Urghan! The Delivery estimate has it as the 29th at latest, I could've sworn that yesterday it said the 23rd at the latest -_-; I'm going to be pissed if Advent Children comes first (since it comes out later)
 
I also ordered it on Amazon figuring I'd get it the day after on the one day shipping. Nope. I had an estimated date of the 25th. Fuck Amazon. I canceled the order and called an EB 20 minutes from my house and told them to put a copy aside. omw@lunchbreak.

Amazon can suck my left nut. I want my ToAU now not SOON. SOON isn't doing me any good while everyone else is getting a jumpstart on the new areas.

This is weird. I didn't have CoP for like three months until I got sick of it and ordered it from Amazon. Didn't do any special shipping crap or anything, I got it like a few days after I ordered it...on the PS2.
 
This is happenning to me too. I ordered ToAU from Amazon. I started on the POL E-Store section, and of the choices available to order from, Amazon was the only one that wasn't apparently backordered. So I went to Amazon and they by all accounts had copies in stock. Mine was supposed to be shipped yesterday (Wednesday the 26th). I went and checked my email to find an email from the supplier of ToAU that processed my order. Instead of the expected confirmation of shipping, I got a notice of backorder, and my copy won't be mailed for another one or two weeks. This Saturday, I'm going to check the local EB, EBX and Gamestop and see if I can get a copy there (they were sold out last Sunday). If so, I'll eventually have two copies of ToAU-PS2 and can pawn the second one off to a needy friend.

I'm still waiting on mine from Amazon, as well. I pre-ordered, and pre-paid, a good week before release. Estimated date of delivery is May 5th. T_T

There was some serious, SERIOUS under-estimation of demand on the part of retailers. I swear to God, most of the gaming community at large barely understands that FFXI exists, let alone that it has a larger subscriber base than Everquests I and II combined (the expansions for which you'll have no trouble finding anywhere). >_<
 
Lets all look at the wonderful silver lining of this situation.

Those who get ToAU, will be entering the new areas when the expansion craze has been lessened somewhat. Traffic wont be as bad, Assult will be more organized, Besieged wont be as crowded with lvl 75 players, you have a heads up of what mobs you may encounter AND, you will have other players who have already done some quests will be able to help you.
