An Unreliable List

Put Lanien on it :D I think it's a good idea.

I have a better idea…a “Did not show” list, can be abused. But…a “Showed up” list is simple. Just create a sticky. After every Scheduled Event, just post what you ran, and who showed up who actually signed up, and a link to your original event thread. Also mention those who showed up, who did not sign up. Gives us 2 pictures…those who keep their commitments, and those who come to aid in a pinch (good peeps). Don’t need a lot of detail in each post….no posts of “These people showed up…and all the other sons of bitches who didn’t, t(-.-t) “ Just keep it simple. Then, any leader who sets up a run, can just search this sticky, look at original thread (by way of link in post), and see who actually shows.

Of course…for all the runs that get set up, if you don’t post your roster in the original thread (i.e. do things via pm and such) it won’t be tracked, so you get screwed… Like in Horror Films…no one around…no one can see you…no one can hear you scre…

Sorry, but yeah…simple “Who showed” sticky would be very handy.

It seemed like a good idea to me when I came up with this... and there's definitely a need for something, but I can't think of a system that seems fair but at the same time isn't so complicated it's not worth the effort. Also I feel like the problem with the system is it would require some sort of check, to ask the guy who missed it if he really skipped or not. Downside is it gives him an opportunity to ask the person to forgive him and cancel the mark against him. - Most people would cancel the mark.

Just think people definetly shouldn't be using events schedule if they aren't reliable. Like maybe events schedule should require posting priveledges and they have to be earned through attendence - and can be taken away if abused.

I think if it was reliable it would be used more often by the people with access and to better success - as opposed to it being completely open and therefore the odds high that whatever event you create is going to be canceled or delayed.

I don't know the best system for a unreliable list, a reliable list or an access system. Simply know that I always feel sorry for people with busy real life schedules who plan to come to events and can't stay to the end because they end up waiting on replacements for no-shows, or waste a big block of their free time on events that don't end up happening.

I'm sure one of us can come up with a good idea.

/em asks Lanien about his cheesy goodness.

No no no, only Ish can ask.

/em asks Lanien about his Sagety goodness.

This has been really hard to think of a way to do it. It's a good idea, but it just seems as if it'll be abused. Especially by the trolls of this forum who don't even need to post jack, but they do anyway.

"Swishiee sucks for not showing up to your event."
"Uhhhh... you weren't there."
"So what. Fuck Swish."

And fucked I shall be. If anyone has a good suggestion, please give us your two cents. I'd like to see this idea go into effect and have it work right. I did like the idea of the showed up list, but honestly most people show up anyway. It's only a few that don't show up normally.
