Animal Crossing Wii

I'm only slightly bummed at the same, static camera as found in the old games (free-moving or follow cams would be so neat!) but overall psyched out of my mind for this.

I'm glad they put back Halloween and some other holidays present in the first game. They were sorely missed in Wild World (sometimes seemed like all WW had were those dumb flea market days) and add some much-needed variety to the calendar.

On my to-buy list for sure.

High chance of DLC, woowoooo

The gamecube, although the bottom console of its generation (besides Dreamcast, but it doesnt count) it has left me loving so many favorites. Animal Crossing is one of them. I count it as a GC title since the N64 animal crossing didnt make it across seas.

YES............ YES................ YES................

DO WANT.

Eh, the one feature I wanted in the next Animal Crossing isn't in it.

Sharing a town online. It would've taken some nice advantage of WiiConnect24.

Damn it... I'll buy it. I know I will. I won't be able to resist, even though I played the Gamecube version to death and the DS version wasn't able to hold my attention nearly as long. This just looks nice.

That Wii Speak thing is gonna be nice.

But the only problem I'm having with the sensor is that isn't there gonna be a lot of microphone feedback and echo if its on 24-7?

I think it is, from the video, People were fishing together.

Well, you can invite people over and fish together in the DS one by inviting them.

I mean share the actual town, as in you and 3 friends over the net have their characters live in the same town. Not just the ability to visit.

oh, donno if they will ever think about that, lol

There are a couple things I dont like, either... But Ill deal with them lol. Like skaw said, it would be nice to share a town, the only problem with that would be that your town would need to be hosted on a server somewhere. With Wiiconnect24, it wouldnt work so well, considering some peoples net gets shut down or disconnects every so often. Updating would be a little hard to keep up with if hosted from the users consoles.

I dont like the Wii Speak thing... I would much rather have a headset, personally. I imagine a headset will come sooner or later, though. Theres a couple different methods nintendo could use to enable them.

Online towns would be cool, too. This is sort of like what Skaw mentioned, but there would be several hosted servers, and on each server there would be several towns, and in each town a certain number of people could live there. From this point, you could transfer to different towns on your server (this would be like going to a different town or state in your own country.) This doesnt offer much, other than different layouts of towns and a small difference in item availability.

Besides visiting different towns via the train, you could visit an airport to switch servers (which basically acts as different countries) and from those servers select another town to visit. This would be nifty, because you will be enveloped in a completely different place (different scenery, vegetation, cultures, etc.)

Thats what I personally wouldve liked.

Edit: Also, to allow members to visit any town/country they would like, it would be a good idea to put a time limit on how long you could stay in a certain town. Such as, if it isnt your native town, you have a 60 minute time limit. If the time runs out before you leave the town, that towns police come and take you to the airport by force and ship you to the town selection screen (on the current server.)

To join a town, you could just select it, and you would be put into a queue. If the queue is too long, you can try a different town.

All I have to say is YAY!!! I loved the game cube version, never played the other. But, I"m really looking forward to getting this one. So simple yet so fun!

Not gonna lie, this game sounds cool with the whole Wii Speak thing, but I'm afraid I'll just play the game a few days then put it away to never touch it again. That's what happened to my DS version :P

I want to buy the Gamecube version and it's still like 20$. :-\

Granted it's an older system... but comparative thats really not much to pay for a game anymore. lol
