/anon while in XP party

you guys clearly didn't read this thread ^^; if you aren't going to read it, then why comment at all? It just ends up making you look foolish in the end for suggesting something she had already done.

Yeah Falsey had a good point. You must have a decent grasp of most of the people in your level range. I usually have a good one. There are those who exp faster and slower, but a good majority will keep up.

I hate anon. I hate seeing people in my LS constantly anon. I dont know about all the asking for stuff when you are in a party though. Apparently the mages get that a lot, but I have never seen it (thank god). Still, does it take much effort to ignore someone? As per the party leader thing, seriously. The ONLY time I have seen a party leader anon, it was a Rdm/Nin. Tried to say it was for some stupid reason, but everyone knew it was because of /nin.

When you're in battle and watching to see if your enfeebs wear, your tank needs erase, a bomb toss to stun or a skill chain coming up for you to burst then adding one or more lines of crap can be very annoying at the minimum and possibly deadly. As a former blm I had to not only blist but GM call on two occasions from individuals who were pissed off because I wouldn't give them a d2 while I was in an exp party (to be 100% clear...these were not individuals in MY party). I have had many more argue with me. Yes it can be frustrating to get to a zone and discover that the camps are already full...guess what...it happens to mages too. You do the best homework you can and then you deal with it. /anon is not going to go away. Past level 40 as a blm when I was in an xp party I was always /anon.

I don't think its that big of a deal, although a 2k choco makes me cry when the camp is full. If you /sea all zone anon people show up, don't they? their job is blanked but you can see if they are in a party because their name will be blue or yellow. I usually count yellows, then see if the blues match and can tell how many.

In that case they probably got there after you looked, but before you got there, which happens >.<; The torama camp can support 3 parties btw, well 2 parties in teh safe hole and one across the cave. (the third isnt too fun since theres a pop in camp occasionally.) Gobbies are good exp there too, if you're running out of cat.

Well if you read what the OP had to say, she is in a static and had to get a pick up PLD. And being in a static, I really don't know what other people are the same lvl as me. So I can't deduce who is what if they are /anon.

But concerning seeing people /anon and not /anon, you need to make a decision to go there on what people are not on /anon. If you see a PLD, 2 DRKs, and a MNK. You can pretty much assume that there is more than one party exping there.

So as much as I hate it too, it is a fact of the game.

Ronith, the problem is not about my need to "pay attention". I've already stated before, that when I searched I only saw one leader our level range. The Torama camp in Onzozo can support 2 parties without much trouble, but not more. So let's look at what I knew going in:

-There is ONE leader and FOUR others in the zone our level range- this implies ONE party.

-Everyone our level range has to fight Toramas in one very particular camp, in which TWO parties can be supported without a negative impact on XP.

All I could go on was the information I was presented. I "paid attention" to what was given, and we made the judgement to try Onzozo based on that. When we arrived, we found that information to be faulty due to the huge mass of people xping while /anon. Hence the reason for my flame.

Side note- I'd already mentioned in previous posts what I saw on the /sea of the zone. Perhaps you should pay attention to the thread. :P

actually you missed what I said...i said to ASK EVERY PT LEADER NOT JUST THE un/anon ones hahahaha maybe you should pay attention :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P ask every pt leader /anon and un-/anon w/e if you wanna not get the run around then do this to ensure the smooth flowing of exp for your pt :P

i havent read any of this thread, nor do i intend to. I'll just say straight up, if i want to go /anon, i will DAMN WELL go /anon. i dont give a rats ass about anyone else's opinion. if i'm /anon its for MY OWN DAMN reasons.
and i dont give a shit if anyone else out there wants to be /anon or not, its THEIR choice.

there is my 2 cents. peace out.

"I am Jack's wasted life"

God you're such a fucking loser. Everything I've ever seen you post here or do in-game is total crap. You need to retire from the game, the boards, and life in general.

I see Ronith- so you're saying to start sending tells to every single yellow name in a zone, and hope they'll actually respond and not give you BS, to determine if it's good to XP. Or maybe they can just NOT BE ANON.

Time spent sending tells to everyone in the zone who's anon to figure out wtf they're doing there: Indeterminate, assumed 5+ minutes

Time it takes to type in /sea zone 60-66 and read the data: 5 seconds

Here's the way I see it: You can get random tells for D2/Raise/ditch your party, whatever. Or you can get random tells asking you what job/level/purpose you have in the zone. Doesn't seem to make much difference to me.

And another thing- how often do you actually get those random tells anyway? As a RDM, I've had a total of 2 people ask me to leave my party for theirs over the course of levelling from 41 to 63. My husband plays BLM, he gets a single D2 request maybe once a week, at most. The frequency just doesn't seem to warrant misleading other parties who may have chosen to camp somewhere other than on top of your party if they'd seen you on the search.

Yeah, as a whm, I'd get maybe at most 2 /tells a week asking for a raise. If they were close by, I'd let my party know and then raise after the chain. If they were far away, or in another zone, they got a no with an apology for not being able to raise them. The only time I had been asked to join another party was in the dunes, unless it was from a friend saying "crap, you're in a party already" or something of that nature. I really think they're overstating how much this happens just so they can avoid at most a couple /tells a day asking for raises/d2's and such.

After sitting on this topic, I agree with Fellina. It sucks when people go anon in party. I have gotten to the point, where I purposely don't go anon, so people know we are there for exp and don't show up and overcamp the mobs. And I am a BLM and I do get tells to D2, and if the person doesn't want to wait til our chain is over, then they are sol.

Even one time when my static took a 30-60 break for lunch we made two parties, so that people assumed that with all the other anons in the area that there was 2 parties there and wouldn't come.

I am 69 almost 70, and I am already sick of the high lvl exp areas, there are parties stacked on top of parties, it is a freaking joke. So people need to help others out so we don't overcamp each area. Cause once you spend 30-60 minutes gettting to Kuftal tunnel(and that is feasible if you get there right after the rock moves), its a pain in the ass to turn around and leave.
