Another Besieged Thread...

I hp'd during the second wave.. and it ended while I was in my MH..
I got nothing.
I HP'd during the 3rd wave after setting my HP at the crystal.. and got double digit exp.. and very little IPS.. I think HP'ing resets it.. also, I think melee get alot more for their efforts than mages. Unless you're a whm, I think support spells give good standings, but blm's don't get much.

Try setting up in a Dynamis-esque Tank/Nuke/DD alliance next time a Besieged happens, and do as many different aspects of your job as you can; pick mobs to Aspir for MP, Sleep/Sleepga mobs that are causing problems, cast Tier IV and Tier III -ga nukes with a PLD in your team holding the mob away from you and/or covering you. That should get you a lot more ISP.

Or, alternately, you could stand on the high ground above the gates and rain Tier III -ga hell from above with little chance of retaliation =) It seems SE designed the parapets to be untargetable by the mobs, and allow PCs to target and attack anything below them; this goes for RNG as well.

that is untill they get past the first gate

Well, that's partly why I posted that as an afterthought rather than the main suggestion of my post. :)

Just spam Diaga then. After homepointing and returning, thats all I did for a good bit because I knew it was ending soon. Got max EXP in 4 or so casts, hitting about 8 mobs total, plus meleeing 2 mobs(the 3rd ran away as retreat was called.)

Besiege rewards those that are active. You don't need to be casting Blizzaga III to be considered active.

However, the EXP reward works like EXP Scrolls. It does not go towards Limit Points, even if you're maxed out or have limit turned on. So from now on, I'm just gonna run in with my minorly equipped Beastmaster with Funguar pets and spam Diaga.
