im installing FFXI on my new laptop and i cant find my ToAU CD and i logged in AU what do i do? or am i just fucked lol? or will i just appear in a different area?

I think you can place a support call through either the POL customer support thing or via POL's website to have a GM relocate your body though.
 
Same thing happened to a friend of mine. He was not able to log into his character until he got a replacement CD and installed it. He messaged GMs from one of his mules but they said that they couldn't do anything. Sorry to hear that happened to you. :( Worth trying to call support though.
 
find a friend with the disc and install. You dont need your disc, any disc works.
 
One thing that might just be crazy enough to work, try the file checker in POL. Since you've already registered ToAU, maybe it will recognize that you should have the files and download them. If that doesn't work, your only options are find your disc, buy a new one or pirate it.

I believe this'll work, however you'll need to create the ROM4 directory first.
 
Or if you know someone you can seriously trust. Have them log into your character and move it to an area outside Toau. I wouldn't recommend it though.
 
if the calling PoL thing doesnt work ill just buy a new one ill be in the UK (long time) lol >.>

I have FFXI for PC and PS2, so for ToAU i got it for PS2. Once regerstration was done, i then turned and downloaded a torrent for the PC version and it works.

Being out of the states you needn't worry about the RIAA coming for you. Just saying v.v
 
Just letting you know its completely legal to download the game since you did buy it, its the same as if you had backed up your disc copy. Pirate away arrrr.
