Same can be said for majority of the legal 16 yr olds out there. Still, each country will set their own laws. And the States, many of them have some pretty ridiculous laws.

Of course you and I are going to argue that 12' & 13 yr olds are not near mature enough to decide they're ready. I think that's because of what we consider age appropriate based on our norm.

There are still arranged marriages that are the norm in other countries of girls to grown men at the tender ages mentioned above.

There's no denying that kids, children, are having sex younger and younger as the years go by. That being said, it's not far fetched what-so-ever to think the boy may have 'wanted' it.

E- I'm not arguing by the way that this is not a statutory rape case because, if they did indeed have sex , well he is not of legal age.

Yes, with the lowest being 16 if I am not mistaken.

It is illegal someone below state AoC to have sex abroad as well. It is not, however, illegal for someone, if they are within the AoC limit for the state, to have sex with someone below their state's AoC as long as it is legal in that country and the age difference is within 4 years. As such, it is legal for a 16-year old Alabamian to have sex with a 12 year-old Angolian, as long as they are in Angola.

Wow pretty vulgar man, all I'm saying is coverage was provided, and Fox prints a bold faced lie about how no other network covered the damn "protest" I dont pick sides, for I neither fully identify with Reds or Blues, so take your petty squabbling elsewhere k? My belief is it's fine to protest, but only if you have a counter-plan (thats valid and feasible) to replace what you are protesting. Otherwise, take your picket sign home and STFU.
 
Simply to play devils advocate on the whole age of consent topic, it's a society based law. Look at nature, if you're old enough to be "sexually mature", you're old enough to reproduce. That was how it was all the years in history before society, and even long into it. I'm not condoning people boning preteens, just pointing out the biological side of things. So while society may view someone as a monster for looking at a budding 13 year old girl and finding her attractive, biology sees it as merely the most fertile opportunity to reproduce.

Truth is, because of growth hormones and vitamins in our common diet, sexual maturity is coming earlier than ever, yet the "acceptable age" seemingly is going higher. Consider that the hormones are there, and the mental capacity has not caught up to them since the taboo on teaching kids about sex before their bodies figure it out. I'm sure a great deal of sexual deviance among teenagers is a direct result of this. By that I mean teen pregnancy, high instance of sexual transmitted disease, and sexually charged crimes.

And finally to circle back to the topic of the woman allowing her son to fuck her. I believe that they're both mentally unstable people, but I place a lot of the blame in the son. A powerful personality in a male such as one who is both bipolar and has a history of criminal activity could easily be seen to dominate a weak willed personality type in the female. The follower types don't tend to threaten parents, be they step or otherwise, so he's obviously the self proclaimed alpha type. The mother, I can't speak of her personality, but either gave in to her own lust (unlikely) or was forced into sexual relations with her son for any number of possible reasons. A third, but also likely, option is that she's mentally unstable as well to the degree where she considered the "bonding" a way to get her long lost son back.

It's a psychology game, and anything involving this much psychoanalysis is easily twisted by any news company to fit their agenda to attract audiences that suckle on sensationalism the same way MTV got people to talk about them via Kanye West's interrupt. I'm sure years down the road they'll release the true story about how the mom didn't have sex with him after all, that the son was rebelling against the world in the most horrific way he could come up with short of killing someone.
 
Looking at bush people today, most of them don't mature until around 15.

And its not the hormones as much as its the sugar in pretty much everything.
