Another plane crash in NYC..

11th October ... this won't go down too well, seems like an accident so far though. Hopefully death is minimal.

I heard about this on the radio too, it's pretty scary, I'm hoping for the best though. I don't want to deal with another terrorist attack.

Well they're saying its not a terrorist attack, but nothing is really confirmed yet. I hope everyone is ok ><

/sigh

Time to make a bunch of phone calls. I hope everyone I know is alright. I still have nightmares sometimes about 9/11 and everyone I lost.

They confirmed it's a Small Plane (1 motor), and they suppose it's not a terrorism attack, probably someone who lost control of the plane or was learning how to fly and had no idea what he/she was doing...
Hoping for little or none casualties...

Pilot was Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle, he died in the crash

from cnn: "Yankees manager says plane owned by pitcher Cory Lidle"

lol, trying to one-up non-motorcycle-helmet-wearing Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers)?

that's horrible to say... at first i thought someone was joking because i heard it at the end of the day.

Happend not too far from my school =O planes hitting buildings 6 blocks away not enough to cancel midterms though.

why would it cancel midterms, you make it sound like a boeing crashed into that building. it was a small, fixed-wing airplane, not much bigger than a conversion van. it didn't even damage the building structure because it was so small

and not only that, it wasn't even terrorist related, the dude just seemingly accidentally crashed, that shit will be cleaned up before the morning most likely and life will go on

True but was this known when the plane first crashed? No, that's why it's a big deal. When a plan crashes into a building, espically in NYC, despite it being a rare event is people are not going to act nonchalent about it.

I work in midtown but I only caught the news about half an hour after it happened and by then it was known that it was an accident, not a terrorist attack... but still, it was crazy.

Glad that the injuries were kept to a minimum.

Confirmed Corey Lidel and flight instructor were killed. That is all that has been reported.

Meh, we learned late (like 1-2hrs after it happened) and tons of misinformation, so we didn't really know anything. I thought it was done on purpose by a single nutcase, first it was an airplane, then a helicopter, I left school thinking it was a helicopter until I got home and saw news.

We didn't really know much, alot of people left and didn't bother showing to classes incase they shut down subways =P

And the Terrorists win.

Honestly, do people get frightened after a murder happens a few years after a serial killer has caused a stirup? How about a building catching fire a few years after an Arson goes on a spree?

Jumping to conclusions that it was a militant act is falling in to their hands.

It's called neurotic - we as New Yorkers fit the description to a T. Jumpy, edgy, and desperate for this war on terror to be over. But if you don't live in NY then you really wouldn't know what it's like having a second plane crash incident especially in a wealthy neighborhood like the UES.
