Another successful garrison run ^^

I know lots of linkshells out there do these on occasion, but figured i'd post a few screenshots from the lvl 30 cap Buburimu Garrison run TheBrotherhood LS did this past saturday.

We had expected to run with an alliance of 18 people, but in the end we had an alliance of 12 of our LS members gather and create on heck of a team that wiped out wave after wave of goblins. We have been doing garrisons on and off for the past year, always doing West Ronfaure and finally decided to start going after higher lvl garrisons. So Buburimu was the choice. We had quite a few people that were new to garrison itself and they managed to do an incredible job, and we had great success with the only casualty being an NPC death.

Our setup included BLUs, RNG, WAR/NIN, WAR/MNK, SMN, WHM, MNK, NIN and BLM.

So here's my congrats to: Sirivalin, Lokelani, Pasquale, Timwakefield, Exodusamphi, Zakuta, Alianne, Buckeyespud, Inari, Shaoulin, Xean, Soulstar and Onedarkflame - a job well done!

(And for those who have never done a garrison, I highly recommend these. You get a little bit of a cash reward from the items dropped, and its a blast to do with friends)

These are fun, and the level 30 NPCs seem to be the best. Check out the level 50 ones, those are rough and a real challenge. My group has done 2 runs and failed horribly. We usually go with 6, but a larger group may be beneficial on the 50s.

Which areas have the lvl 50 zones? We were actually thinking of moving onto a more challenging zone soon, but haven't discussed any of the areas yet.

Altep, Xarc, and Yhoat. We tried Altep, was rough, but like I said, we do these with 6, and having more support might actually be beneficial.

We did uncapped quite a few times, not much of a challenge, and 40 caps just don't have rewards, so we haven't touched them.

Very nice, I haven't done a Garrison in a long, long time. They are a lot of fun and some of the rewards are not too shabby. I've never done one over 30 cap so I'm not sure what the higher level ones are like.

Altep isn't too bad if you've got someone else or three helping to clear mobs. The AoE silence is a pain, but someone from the controlling country can just buy echo drops from the OP. Yeah, having a lot of experienced people makes it easy, just like anything else in the game.

The 40 caps have some decent R/EX drops, but you'll get the most benefit if you routinely do other garrisons where you'll actually get some benefit from the gear that drops.

I haven't been able to make LS garrison nights in a while, but it's mostly something fun that can be done with a pretty large group with a chance of getting something out of it. Don't go into it looking for the drops and you'll probably have more fun.

It was a blast and I look forward to doing a level 50 soon. That is if I can get 5 more levels!!

Oh and note to garrison noobs like me going into this. If you are the guy trading in the trigger rare/ex drop to the NPC, make sure you have the level restriction turned off before you do.

Don't go into it looking for the drops and you'll probably have more fun.

Yep, that's the most important part I think, and probably the reason that we did really well. The gil reward from the drops is just an added bonus, because doing the event and actually winning is where the fun comes from.

And yeah, make sure to remove the garrison cap by talking to the npc at the end of the run, because if one person still has their cap on you won't be able to trade another garrison item >_<

was pretty easy people knew their stuff and it went well aside from the repeated mann feet(20k)=/

Yea, we did 4 runs so every single person ended up with legs and feet. Its still nice for those who's highest is only level 30 to put 40k in their pocket for a job well done, and it teaches teamwork that cant have a price put on it.

I don't agree with this at all.. the garrison gear that drops lvl 20 is decent but doesn't sell for much. As for 30 the only items that are really any good (read both usable and sell for decent moneys) are the military harp and gun... however the 40 cap imo is the best because the "variant" gear is awesome and so are the earrings (one adds refresh I think, not a latent effect, maybe only in garrison I'd have to double check). Great rewards for both mages and melee in the 40 run.

That refresh earring is 50 cap drop, and works in garrison only.

The only good items from 40cap is variable cape imo, which gives 25mp and 7defense at 75(and always active, not just garrison only) and the variable ring, which at 20cap garrisons gives 28mp, and mp recovered while healing+1, and scales during higher lvl caps.
The protean ring is alright, but another garrison only item, 3attk/3rattk starting at 20 caps, and scales as well dependant on cap.

And military pick is a decent axe from 30caps, and sells for more than the gun.

50 caps are a pain, just tried demons in Xarcabard with LS this past Friday(usually garrison every Friday, ranging from 20's to uncappeds(soon), needed more people, last wave kept wiping us out.
Usually do anticans, not so bad with an alliance+clearer(s).
