I still stand by my statement that Ansgarswifee is just Ansgar dualboxing.

The modifiers apply when using Chain Affinity, since you can use it with 0 TP, you'd get a 1.50 mod anyway. Just having TP and casting a spell does nothing, TP actually has to be consumed with Chain Affinity for it to do anything.

For example, if I'm doing self-light, I'd use savage blade followed by CA Cannonball, the TP return I got from savage blade will go back to 0 since CA will consume that when I cast Cannonball. Without CA, just regular modifiers apply which for Cannonball is Defense, STR: 50% and VIT: 50%. Probably a bad example for modifiers, but explains how TP is used with blue magic.

With Death scissors, basic modifier is STR: 60%. With Chain affinity you then get the TP modifier
0%:1.50 150%:2.75 300%:3.25

Those modifiers only apply with Chain Affinity, and from what I understand, not all BLU spells are effected by TP, even with Chain Affinity. I'm assuming that the TP effects accuracy for the other spells, though it's not stated in the help text but I could be wrong, I'm only saying this out of my experience with BLU.

There was this one party I was in, high 40s, Quicksand Caves. The JP BLU was absolute shit. He wore MP/MND crap like you'd usually see on a WHM, subbed NIN, but the best part was the fact that he honestly believed meleeing fulltime at 300% TP (no, he wasn't using Chain Affinity either) aided the power of his spells. When asked to stop (it took a while for him to actually goddamn listen) he said, and I quote: "JP research says meleeing at 300% TP is best."

Moral: Gimps are not limited to purely the NA player base.

Sadly, a lot of JP BLU are pretty bad, either not knowing how BLU spells works or spam low lvl low damage spells for dot while not knowing that each BLU spells give considerable amount of tp to the mobs... JP BLU i will say almost 80% are bad...

Back to topic, party with her "husband?" long time ago on his WHM, lacking all crucial spells as lvl40+ whm which includes... Barfira, Protectra2... 'nuff said.. I would thought someone would improve over time... Guess not -_-

As Lyrai pointed out, BLU spells are not affected by TP unless you use CA, as far as i noticed and i am aware of. Spamming Head Butt at 0%TP and 300% TP or other spells have no considerable higher damage or efficiency unless CA is active.

Correct me if i'm wrong ;O

gotcha... my bad :oops:

I found it kinda humorous that wifee just asked me to pt with /whm on my DNC at lvl 24..

AW: pt? /whm {Yes, please.}
Me: {No thanks.} -.-

and on the BLU spells TP modifier subject, if you see noobs sitting at 300% let them know what's up with it, especially at lower lvls, cause I used to do the same thing soloing.

It's Squeenix's fault though, they put in the explanation bar for almost every blu spell "Damage varies with TP" or "is based on" I forget which one though, but they basically tell you to keep your TP as high as possible. :\
