I'm not really one to flame people, but sometimes they really just get to me. And this is more of a cautionary tale rather than a flame, I suppose. Basically it was me as main heal (smn) 4 DD's and a rdm.

RDM has Cure 3 and more mp because it's a taru. I inform the leader (Snowmann) that they're better suited for being main heal as they have the things I already mentioned. Ignored me and told me to heal. (I've always had an issue with smns being main healers, it's not our job and we don't have the correct spells in order to be main heal at lower levels and a lot of times at higher levels) Wouldn't let me MB on skillchains and didn't like it when I brought out my avatars. WTH? I'm a summoner, that's my job.

As far as Ansgarswifee goes, if they didn't get a poisona right after they are poisoned, they complained. Threatened to leave the party because of 'lack of response from mages' ie- me. Didn't provoke mob away from mages/puller. Had a garka smn PL. (yes, I'm putting it as a negative because we didn't need a PL) Made me heal throughout the whole party and didn't heal themselves even they were taru pld with Cure 3. Seemed like a prima-donna to me.

Not really a RDM's job to main heal. They can fill in for a WHM, but can't do nearly as good a job. You and the RDM should of split healing duties.

Agreed. I didn't want to have him mail heal, more so just heal than fight with everyone else. Sorry if I made it seem that way when I wrote it.

SMN and RDM in party together = neither wants to main heal and neither should do no healing. Split 50/50 with whatever the PLD isn't handling, and both have plenty of time and MP to spend on more job-specific things, while not being a burden by refusing to heal.

Poisona: Use if it's more than 1 HP/tick. Use if the person's low on health and the poison could conceivably kill them (... although a cure would be rather more appropriate ...). Use if poisoned person can rest mid-battle (i.e. is a mage) and for some reason can't Poisona themselves. Use at end of battle if poisoned person wants to rest after battle (such as PLD).

Don't bother using if it's 1 HP/tick, on any frontliner (PLD included) *during* battle, or on any non-resting frontliner after battle. Despite the Signet changes, many melees are still nubs who don't bother resting even in conquest areas - go ahead and Poisona those who have a clue, but the ones who quite obviously still don't get it, don't bother. Same goes, later on, for disease - not to be confused with MP and TP draining "plague" - for anyone who doesn't rest, especially since Viruna costs a stupidly large amount of MP.

I agree with Isollde; you and the RDM should have shared healing duties. It could also be said that "it's not a Red Mage's job to main heal; that's a White Mage's job and Red Mages are suited for Enfeebling Magics". Doesn't work too well when it's swapped around.

I was in a similar spot where a Summoner expected me to main heal as Red Mage/Black Mage not long ago. Kinda irritating when said summoner was sitting on 75% MP after each fight.

Also LOL at Snowmann.

The above post represents my view of how things *should* be done. Consequently, if you've got PLDs whining about 1 HP/tick poison *during* battle (after battle is another matter entirely), tell them to get some perspective and shove it.

What level was this?
Before SMN get's Cure III, it's probably best, in that situation, for the RDM to main heal.
After that though, it's much smarter if both of them split up healing duties (healing two others mainly, or switching healing duties between fights).
Hell, I know despite how much I bitch about it, I'm a damn good main heal. It just pisses me off when a SMN sees me and says "great, I don't have to heal!".

Level 36 lol. Considering I don't get Cure 3 until level 42 (whm 21) it makes it tough for me to try and main heal as smn. Oh, and at the end of each fight I was at 75%+ mp because I didn't do anything but heal. So boring as smn. ;_;

PL'er should have been main healing XD

What a wasted opportunity to let a Summoner do what they love best, using blood pacts and playing with thier toys. The party (with the PL'er) would have been so much better off to leave you alone and let you play for once. :banghead3:

Why should they share healing duties when they have a galka PL?

Would have been much effective if neither healed and both did what they're supposed to do, and backup-heal when the galka SMN is out of MP.

Sounds like a bunch of morons to me.

Whoo, missed the whole thing about the PL?
So what the fuck was he doing anyway?

Well one *could* insert a lolgarka joke at this point and declare the PL would've always been out of MP, but of course any sensible person knows that racial differences are negligible after very low levels.

Yeah, I missed that bit also. The hell? (It *was* a Galka, he probably ran out of MP far too fast for them all).

Damn you for contradicting my joke before I wrote it. >.>

I was in pt with angarswifee with her husbamd the Galka SMN (Angars) in Garliage Citadel 34-35 I think. I was rdm 34, they never complained, but we had a WHM main healer and I still split curing duties.

Maybe the RDM should take more of the flame if they weren't helping?

"Wouldn't let you MB"??? What is up with that? Cast the spell !! If they would have kicked you over that it would have been more flameworthy.

She was a taru PLD right? Maybe poison could kill her? /sarcasm off

At least they weren't tanking as WAR in RSE gear (name withheld to protect the slacker) Yeah, it did happen.

Tristam is right: LOL Snowmann.
You should have turned down the invite.

So, praytell, what would a Taru PLD tank in at the L30s range, since their HP/STR/VIT RSE is so terrible?

Unless you meant L1 RSE, in which why did he even make it to camp?

I didn't get what Zoltan was talking about til I read your post, Mish.

Zolt, I tanked as WAR and SAM in my Red Jogging Suit of Death (Red because of the BLOOD OF THE SLAIN). What's so bad about that?

RSE, while it has some nice VIT for some races, also has rather visibly subpar defense. (And as for what PLDs wear to tank in at those levels, it's called Eisen gear.)
