Ansgarswifee

Meh, RDM was my first job so alot of my lower experience was newbified.

Paired with a SMN, I'd let them do their Cure II thing and Carbuncle/Garuda curing unless someone took a nasty hit, I was always there to back 'em up. o_o

Now in the awkward situation where post Magic Fruit on BLU and you already have 4DDs and a RDM, would you make the BLU melee or main heal with /WHM and have the RDM supplement that and do the RDM thing as if a WHM were in the pt? P:

With the proper equipment, doesn't the potency of Magic Fruit outperform Cure V to warrant having them main heal over the RDM tryina do it all alone and having the BLU melee?

If there were four other DDs, I'd probably say to have the BLU and the RDM split healing duties. It's really much the same argument as SMN and RDM: you don't need to bog either one down with "main healing" - just have them share, and they'll have plenty of time and MP to each do their own thing.

Although it's worth pointing out that a BLU doesn't necessarily have to "heal" to cut down on how much the RDM heals. Head Butt spam is a glorious thing. Not so hot for the BLU's own damage output but it makes life stupidly easy for whoever has hate and whoever has to heal.

I meant that another guy was warrior tanking in RSE in the lower 30's in another party I was in.

Not the PLD taru tank named angarswifee. They had decent gear.

Warriors can *also* wear Eisen gear. No, it doesn't have the STR of taru RSE, but if the WAR is *tanking*, they can afford a slight hit to STR to boost their survivability. Though I guess that argument doesn't apply to a case of "we can't find a tank, so either the WAR tanks or we disband". So I guess context kinda plays into it. But given the chance to gear for tanking, WARs should also be wearing Eisen gear for that purpose at that level.

As a 75 war, myself, it was pretty sad to see that guy in RSE body, hands and feet.

His great axe was good, but every time he'd pull hate I was spamming cures on him and it was a pain in the ass.

So, um yeah he was unprepared and an embarassment to the WAR job. I mean really, centurions gear is available with CP. It would have done alot more good that freaking RSE Hume gear (I forgot to mention that part).

I was in such a party when I was new to the ToAU XP areas. The BLU/WHM melee'd and support healed with me as RDM and did a damned good job of it too! The name escapes me, but I believe it was my first time in a party that fought Puks.

Ever since Valkurm Dunes as RDM, I can't remember anything except being a main healer unless there was a WHM present. If I invited a RDM to my party, I'd expect them to main heal because I've always had that expectation of myself. It's not impossible. I know you have to keep certain enfeebs up, but I guess that would be all about prioritizing your spells - find out which enfeebs are most important for the PT setup and mobs. I've even solo healed in the 40s range with no problems.

Oh, hume? RSE hands then (3 STR, 3 DEX), the rest is crap for WAR.

Yeah, hume.

Honestly, I can't flame the guy because he did put the party together and it was good XP.

But, man did he get hit hard. I had to Bio the mobs to reduce his damage.

I don't think magic fruit can out perform cure V. But with a half ass mnd set my fruits do about 381, and subbing whm you'll see an increase also. But for 16 mp less than cure IV...thats awesome.

About the topic, this is why I try to avoid inviting smn's at this lvl range. They cant really doing anything amazingly, and I normally prefer smn to main heal, if thats my last resort and I do end up inviting one. However the PL should have easily been able to do all the work, so you could MB your heart out <,< Just keep in mind, if you plan on taking smn to 75, your going to be main heal for basically the rest of the job.

*Does Angarswifee know she spelled wife wrong?

i was kinda wondering that myself; "Angarswife" was taken?

*insert Scott Peterson pic here*

I think its a mule, she has:
angarswife
angarswifea
angarswifeb
angarswifec
angarswifed
and

andgarswifee

lol idk

Why didn't I think of that!

I was main heal on RDM all the way to 75, then turned around and main healed (of course) all the way to 75 on WHM. Every job is going to be made to do things they don't like. Personally, I hated pulling on BRD (it's a personal preference - I don't care to hear how others believe it's beneficial) but sometimes you have to suck it up and do it.

I'm willing to bet Angars is a lonely guy living in his mom's basement, made Angarswifee to try and fool people while keeping himself satisfied at the same time.
That's why the galka pl wasn't doing anything. He was too busy playing his alt!

Maybe it's like wife but supposed to sound like "wifey"? :O

Zolt, you're a fucking ridiculously prepared player wherever you go and whatever you do.

I have not come across someone who is as ready for whatever gets thrown his way in an xp party as you.

If I had a LS with 18 you-type players I'd make my own end-game LS, since you'd do all the work <3

Ice, that's what I meant by outperform, but I think with a good MND swap you might be able to outdo Cure V.

If I ever get my BLU and WHM to equal levels, I'd love to test it. :O

Oh, I can totally see hating pulling on BRD. It's just something that comes with the territory of meriting on the job. As far as exping a job, any and all things you don't like doing are ultimately temporary. As far as merits, goes without saying but merit on something where you enjoy your merit role. (And preferably something that gets good invite rates to parties that rake in fast exp. But the most important point by far is that you have fun while doing so. Merits suck horribly if you're playing a job, or playing a role in a job, that you hate.)

Hmmmm.

Correct me if I'm wrong... afterall this is your flame not mine. But it seems that the anger is a little misdirected here. Wasn't in the "lolleader" that told you were to main heal and not MB?
Granted maybe it's a little annoying when people tell each other how to play their jobs, but it sounds like your problem was more with the leader then Ansgarswifee. But all in all sorry to hear this happened. Hope you have better luck with future invites. =)

True, topic title is a little misleading, but the OP is more or less against both of them: Snowmann for unnecessarily forcing a SMN into a pure healing role (and before level 42 at that) and Angarswifee for throwing pointless fits about Poisona.

Ansgarswife I remember vividly for throwing a tantrum at me for not wanting to pt when I had my flag down. Apparently I should of jumped at the chance as they had a PL. Even after i'd explained my flag was down and that I had no /sea comment she still thought I was an "idiot" for not wanting to pt.
