Granted maybe it's a little annoying when people tell each other how to play their jobs, but it sounds like your problem was more with the leader then Ansgarswifee. But all in all sorry to hear this happened. Hope you have better luck with future invites. =)

granted you have a point about the focus of the flame i still think her greavence is justified cause the noobs haent the nature for parties. the partyleader's stupidity combines with Ansgarswife's immaturity and the result is they'd rather bitch and stroke their imaginary e-peen then fight.

and PL's make all job players morons. it not just limited to non-whms unfourtunately.
 
first of all snowmann aint exactly the pinnacle of exellence to expect to lead properly. I had to drag his ass to whitegate and force him to upgrade his lv 70 nin to dual fudo when his current (and weaker) katana were far more expensive during exp once. last I knew his 75 nin probably has about 50 ninjutsu skill.( not exageratting most likley or not by very much)
second of all is smn really doesnt have anywhere to fit except being a healer expwise.(when inviting one keep in mind the sj lv they got to know how much healing they can reasonably do at once at least though damnitt.)

I usually try to get em to be co healers but when everyone has utsu later on and thanks to tau the monsters hit weak as hell it's been possible for my brd to main heal with a 100-200mp pool. Somehow I figure that a smn can handle a little healing with a 1k+ mp pool when a brd can.
generally though when inviting a smn I basically get a rdm for main/co-healing/ haste-monkey/refresh and the smn for stoneskinga/ randomuseful buff( usually fenrir)
The main problem with trying to invite a smn is finding a way to fit em in. it's usually either have em main heal or have them co heal and buff. generally instead you get a ton of useless buffs sometimes thanks to incompetence.(aka hastega when the lazy rdm or whm needs to get off thier ass and use regular haste or any fenrir buff during a bad moon phase when specifically told that it's a bad moon phase or rolling thunder...) I'm not blaming smn's only. I've gotten more consitent haste from the jhun ponds in the mire than from the mages i've had on war lately. lv 68 atm and since lv 55 i've had 2, maybe 3 mages that constantly keep a proper haste cycle.

The name of angar ect seems familiar to me.. I think I met them once in the tower and mistook the pt they dragged me into for an rmt party until I investigated further and discovered they were merely horribly gimp to a level i had not seen before in players.


I also hate having a pl. i've referenced this event alot already but it still holds true. What do you want the whm to do when you have a pl?
They try to cure and some jerk is making thier mp go to waste or healing before they get a spell off thanks to fast cast. I once started skilling up club and meleeing(didnt bother even trying to cure anymore) for an hour before my party noticed and ordered me to go back to main healing. I put my club away( I wasnt hitting jack anyway) and simply kneeled down and did nothing and they didnt notice the difference.

Is having everything in easy mode really worth making it so that mages can just afk for literally hours without you noticing? Can you imagine how boring it is for the mages when they have to spend the entire pt waiting for a chance to actually have fun doing what they chose that job for? Have some empathy for the mages.

My pld got shouted at by mages for "voking the monster off of the pl" when in reality the damned thing was busy giving them a colonoscopy and would have killed them in 2 more seconds. Dont you think this might be ruining the fun/point of playing the game for people? This is why I dont like having a pl unless i'm desperate for some healing.

Or maybe it's because if all they're doing is BPing and not at the very least backup healing, that they're simply wasting a party slot?
 
A good Smn needs to learn to balance both. When I was like lvl 50+ I was main healing and MBing with Avatars.

Mind you asking a Smn to main heal when all they have is Cure II is fucking retarded when a Rdm can Cure III. People today have no idea how to balance PTs.

Not entirely true, when i party with SMN i tell them to play SMN but back me up on healing when my MP is low. But for PLD not healing himself, he should be shot, unless his name is Snowmann which have been flamed for how "well" he plays on other job.
 
Now I know a level 5 taru rdm has more mp then most 75 galka smn do but I would think the killing would go faster if everyone was doing there job in the party. Oh like the smn using those things avatars I think. And maybe the rdm doing crap there job was ment to do best. And maybe just maybe the pld doing there job and curing after all its a really good way to hold hate. And with a PL and if the pld does there job right they should be the only person the PL needs to cure and the smn and rdm can keep. The other party members alive with a regen here and there and maybe some cures. Well helping take down the mob faster making more kills and more exp over all.

Off topic: WTF do people think smn is a healing class job if you main smn and sub any job but whm or rdm all those cure spells go away very odd I know unless you want cure from the SMN avatar ever 60 seconds or so. Now I understand sure we sub whm and we get gimpy as cure spells at well every level all the way to 75 cure 3 baby da best cure ever.

That and I don't think I would trust anyone with "wifee" in their name lol.

I have PL'ed pt's in the dunes and I told the newbs how to play their jobs.
If a WHM ran out of mp, I'd step in.
If tanker/DD was taking too much damage, I'd tell them to voke off one another when necessary. If I took some hate from healing them then I tell them to voke off me and I'd stay still until the mob's attention is back to the pt. That gave the WHMs time to get their mp back anyway.

Next time, hope for a better pt.
If anything, work something out with the other healers in the pt next time.
Just because you have a bigger MP pool doesn't make you better suited for healing only.

I think I was invited to a party on my ninja (?) awhile back. Immediately I said the name in my dynamis ls and received a horrid response to ditch while I had the chance. Apparently the smn Ansgars is notorious for leeching off of his healing wife. I have more common sense to ignore that couple, than to waste my time and become frustrated over lame party members.

This is where PL's hurt people by teaching them bad habits, "Dont voke off me!" they cry then when I'm blm and do a nuke that annoys the mob the tank is looking at me while I'm getting eaten saying "well the PL said not to voke..." meanwhile the PL is doing something far more interesting afk....
