Any GLBT players out there?

I know what you mean, but that is different. That is a group of people taking a derogatory term used against them and making their own. It loses it's power that way. I'm free to say to a gay friend of mine, "You're such a fag!", for whatever reason (he gets his socks from the women's section at The Bay hehe), but it doesn't work when one player calls another a fag for doing something wrong or saying a situation is gay because it is bad. Those are my thoughts anyways^^Feel free to discuss.

It turns out there's a gay/gay-friendly linkshell called "Rainbow Carnage" which just started up and has a handful of players.

I wouldn't want to spend all of my time playing in the gay ghetto of Vana'diel, but at the same time it's good to have a break from the 17-year-old boys who make snarky homophobic comments.

LOL im 17 ; ;, what i said came out weird but of course i meant well^^

I'm pretty sure he wasn't aiming that at you Chpal^^ I think we've all come across someone using those terms in-game at one point or another...

I think it all very much depends on the context you're using it in. If one of my friends comes up to me and says "you're such a bitch" I'll laugh it off and fire something back *Looks at Porum.* It's when someone is trying to insult you and applies the word "gay" as in the meaning of something bad it's pretty disrespectful. It's not bad to be "gay" and therefore the word "gay" should not be used to describe something as bad or inadequite.

I'll admit I didn't know gay was a deragatory word and just kinda thought it applied to male/male relationships and never really ment it as an insult. Kind of like how lesbian is female/female or how straight is male/female. I'll clean up my language now that I know it's bad though. :D

hey its cool that gay and lesbian people play this game
theres nothing wrong with it =P
good thing u started a thread about it :D

LOL darkseph, your post reminds me of Chapal's, hehe. My being gay has little to nothing to do with me playing FFXI^^ I just love video games...and love is indiscriminate ^_~

XD i just give out my opinion but hey am straight nothing against gays unless they hit on me =P other then that its cool

Contrary to poplular belief, most gays don't go around hitting on straight guys, yet for some reason that is every straight man's worst fear. For one thing, why not just think of it as flattery and laugh it off?

Also, I find it funny that even nasty, ugly straight men fear being hit on by gay guys...like, COME ON! I guess it just comes down to a such a lack of confidence in your masculinity that you would acually feel threatened in such a situation...

Oh btw, that wasn't in any way directed at you Darkseph...it's just an observation i've been meaning to get off my chest...^^ And anyways, i'm not into pretty-boy elvaans ^_~

lmao u cracked me up at this one XD
but who says i only have a elvaan O_O
and am not afraid to be hit on since it never happened to me >_>;;

I have actually been hit on a few times. I was never offended, infact I thought it was rather funny.- except for one time, I was really uncomfortable and harrased, as I was constantly stared at with the "look".

Back when I was younger, I worked with several gays/queer (srry porum, whitch is ok?) They made me laugh daily- I just thought of them as ugly girls.

Anyways, I think that it is funny also. Basically if you don't have problems with girls hitting on you, I wouldn't worry about guys either.

"I worked with several gay guys" is all you need to say hehe. It's truly bizarre how making certain groups plural sounds so wrong..."Oh them blacks/gays/etc.!"

HAHAHA, a female friend of mine said that a few years back after she was having some problems with her recent dates, LOL, just brought back old memories.

BOOOOO....*throws popcorn at Armi*...*sighs* I work with 5 other gay people....its an art store....im like a fish out of water there. But the owner is more crude than any other guy I know, hilarious guy, but very crude and profane. His partner is very feminine and very polite, much more emotionally in tuned. The other guy is really normal, and nice. Very alternative looking and wears either really morbid or "put you in a seizure* bright colors. Very subtle and doesnt broadcast it. Just because a guy is gay doesnt automatically mean hes a great guy. We all have similar thought patterns, all run on the physical a lot, are all loaded with testosterone, so if u challenge us, regardless of sexual orientation, were gonna bite. Bah!....and BAH! again! Didnt like that comment *sits in corner and pouts*

Ezikial.....ugly girls....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!! OMG......ehe..ehe.... ahahahaha. that was great. Yea, being hit on by a gay guy isnt something to be afraid of or anything. I myself would be flattered....at least im being hit on by someone, must mean I look attractive, i guess. Its just like being hit on by a girl....the only fear is having to let the other person know you're not interested delicately.

hi! umm, /blush i have some questions about homosexuality (nothing sick or offensive, just general questions). I come from a country that is notoriously famous for hating and prosecuting any gays, Mexico. Its very conservative there and where i live, im sure there are gays but they keep a REALLY LOW profile. Me personally I grew up disliking homosexuals for the sole reason that my parents and relatives did. They arent bad ppl, they just arent exposed to as much stuff as in America and thus develope a dislkie and distrust towards it. also in rural mexico (rural meaning anything non trourist, actuall Mexico) anything that isnt Roman catholic or mexican is atuomattically dislike.) Up till around 12 or 13 i actually reralized what gays exctually were, They weerent the disgustiong perverts who like to rape little naughty boys, or those who dwell in the night and rob u. They are normal ppl who express their love the same way, bhoth sexually and emotionally. I admit that male with male still irks me a litle, im not in anyway offended by them anymore nor do i hate them at all. I ahve no gay friends, most gays in school are very protective of themselves and anyone seen talking to them is caled a "fag". anyway o have some questions for u guys if u care to answer:

1. What do u think or respond when ppl use the bible as proof that homosexuals are evil? that God made a women and a man. "He made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!" lol i heard that in Comedy central

2. What do u say to the ppl who use biology against gays? for example: a man and a women are perfect for each other, they each have a sexual gland that corresponds with the opther

3. Why is the rainbow a symbol of gayness?

4. Do homosexuals consider themselves girls or guys?

5. One ive heard a lot: Do u think homosexuality is something ur born with or do u aquire these feelings later in life?

Thats all for now. I hope i didnt offend anyone. Plz answer if u want, i would like to hear what gay ppl have to say about so called "gays are evil" proof.

While I by no means want to discourage discussion, and while it is perhaps easier for those with questions about anything really to ask fellow FFXI players, who are people you at least have one common ground with, I also think that we are starting to move off-FFXI-topic. Will move this, please continue to discuss.

Wel actually all guys arent really scared to be hit on XD
i am scared that am be gonna be ass rammed >_>!!
you know one of those sexual gay people
but anyway back to topic >_> did only 2gays post in this topic
come on people dont be shy =P

Well, as for question number one...the Bible doesnt say queers are evil, it merely states that homosexuality is a sin. In 1 Cor 6:9, the bible states which ppl will not inherit the kingdom of God, catamites is among those ppl. Those moronic hicks that chant the Adam and Steve thing arent Christians, most of them are really white supremacists who believe they are really Christians. In 1 Peter 2:24 It says that Christ died for our sins, bearing them on himself out of love. In Romans 5:8 it says that even tho we are ALL sinners, Christ still died for us because He loves us. In Luke 7:34, the bible tells how Christ ate and drink with tax collectors, drunkards, gluttons and sinners. Christ is a friend to such. It is this love that can cause a sinner, or a queer man to repent, or change his mind, and follow the goodness of God. This is stated in Romans 2:4. God does not hate any man or woman, but the sin they are living in. We are called to love our neighbors and our enemies as Christ loved both. And it is important to not shun or avoid ppl either, like so many others do. Christians are in this world, not of this world...therefore we arent supposed to hide ourselves from unbelievers or stick our heads in the sand when they pass us by, we're to have relationships with them and interact normally, applying the love from our faith to the friendship. Contrary to popular belief, Christians are tolerant...just not accepting. The two words have become massively confused. While we cannot accept the lifestyle because we believe it to be sinful, we are to tolerate and love the person.
I think im starting to get a little redundant here, so Ill stop and leave everyone to take my words as they were meant to be taken.
