I'm wondering if anyone could suggest some good battle music from video games (preferably not something "too fast") and if so, if you could link me to a place where I can preview the song.

I'm looking to replace some of my FFXI battle songs and haven't been able to find anything decent lately.

Well, I could probably recommend a good 10 or more, but the problem replacing FFXI battle music is it needs to be upbeat, it doesn't last long, and the really good music usually has a slow start, or is far more dramatic than fighting a canyon rarab is.

I've used a couple of FF songs to replace some of the battle music, but its coming to the point where I need to change the song now, otherwise i'm going to go insane.

But I also see what you mean, a lot of the songs i've found ended up having too long of an intro (and I don't have any editing program to cut out the intro) or just didn't match up with FFXI. ><

FF3/6 battle music, or boss battle music.

Gets me every time :tear:

Baldurs Gate II and Icewind Dale both had good soundtracks. For something a little more fun try and find some Legend of Dragoon battle themes, theyre more rock-style though. Heavy with electric guitar and all.

If youre looking for something cheesy go with Wild Arms lol. If you like, I can PM you a site address that has like, 50 billion video game soundtracks on it. I'd personally throw some Shadow of the Colossus on my game if I played on PC. I play on sucky PS2 though so its all pipe dreams lol.

Don't forgot the Wildbeest Stampede from The Lion King. Lol, isn't that what you used to play all the time during battles?

Lol YES. But thats personal preference! I dunno if anyone else would think it cool lmfao.

I guess you can put other classic battle theme too, just pick your titles lol

Wild ARMs, Tales of series, Suikoden, Atelier series (especially the 2 rearranged soundtrack from Iris), SaGa, Star Ocean, name it! It will take a little while to run out of supplies :)

I would say Tales and Wild ARMs can give you good results, but it's just personnal preferences, but again you can just put some dragonforce in winamp and go with the flow :3.

a lot of the ff10 has good battle music

Challenge, Attack, Run!

try bluelaguna, think it's a net site

Isn't bluelaguna just a streaming website?

I know for sure khinsider hosts complete osts in mp3s on their website lol. Nothing recent though, but you can find few good jewels in there :)

Thanks for the suggestions, and I did have someone mention bluelaguna which turned out to be a really good site with a lot of options.

I'd forgotten a lot of the RPG games that were mentioned (Wild Arms, Suikoden) and I think I might end up getting a few of those songs to try out. I think i'll probably do a search for Baldur's Gate and other Blizzard games because I always did like some of the dungeon song files.

Thanks for the suggestions, and if you think of any more keep them coming please :)

I suggest this:

Its Resolution by Romance Mode, it was the 2nd opener to the anime After War Gundam X, which was canned way too early =(

If you have some music editing software, you could probably cut out a piece of a song that's really fast-paced and loop it. I've seen a video where someone did this with a Dragonforce song.
Or you can use the entirety of Pink Floyd's Echoes. If you get through the whole song, you know you're spending too much time in one fight.

...=D I was trying a loophole

.net would be a tag for bluelaguna

actually I know a friend that I used to troll the same board on ffxionline hosts the site so that's how I got referred there, a lot of the music there is pretty damn fantastic of course more never hurts^^

Wow..lol xDD

I use FF9's battle music, it's at least more bearable than anything FFXI has to offer, but even then I just sometimes listen to my iPod when exping so..

I found another pretty good battle song that I think i'm going to try out, though it might end up replacing the campaign battle instead... not sure quite yet.

Crimson Stigmata - Battle Theme II & III are really good songs.
