Any quetz people still play on Istory?

I'm still poking around, for mainly events, but I am waiting to level my classes until SE's vision is a little more clear and implemented. I would really like my first time through the leveling curve to be the best experience SE can give me. I'm super pumped to try this patch 1.19 next week though.
 
My character is still on Istory, but I hardly get on because I'm just too busy to dedicate to a grind at the moment.
 
New patch is looking pretty awesome. They posted the patch notes yesterday.

Haven't played in forever, but.. if I do decide to reinstall and reopen my account.. I'd be back on Istory right where I left off.


Still though, hard pressed to make the effort to reinstall when The Old Republic is so close around the corner.

I'd get what? One and a half months in before I start playing a brand new mmo that I will likely play and enjoy for a long.... loooooong period of time.

I just don't know. FFXIV had promise at first, but it ended up being a giant disappointment. Though, the recent patches have seemingly provided a huge positive improvement, I just don't see myself returning to FFXIV so soon as tempting as the idea may be.
 
XIV is definatley not the game you knew before! For starters, the materia system added a lot of depth to the crafting system. While time consuming, it certainly is worth the effort. It sort of feels like merits in a sense (Example of good materia: STR +17, STR and VIT +6, Crit Damage +50, etc) And... AND... We have CHOCBOS! (They make me so happy calling for mine and *pop*, there he is <3) There's also multiple quests / missions / grand company missions to do! So you won't find yourself bored, I assure you!

For fun last night, I went and explored the deep caverns of Shpoesae (rank 15 public dungeon). And let me tell you, that was some of the most fun I've had in a while. In addition to that, the 45+ dungeons (public) of U'Ghamaro and Zahark are very fun too. With two difficult NMs to beat waiting for you at the end of ton of hard mobs that link and aggro you. And Ifrit... I've actually yet to try it but wow am I excited about it.

Each class is feeling more and more unique. LNC and ARC are similar, both focusing on DD, but one is better at TP gain while the other is obviously safe at a distance. PUG is a great evasion/support tank and is fully capable of dishing out great damage. MRD is also a viable tank but has extreme AoE capability. GLA is the best tank now and also has a great HP to support its role (also a decent DD).

Partying is a lot more viable now, too! You can get great EXP/hour and you don't feel like the only thing to do anymore is leves (or events if you were high enough). The BIG difference is you fight mobs YOUR SAME level or so, not 10 levels above you anymore.

Anyway, I high recommend! I'm glad people are still watching/thinking about coming to the game. And once jobs are added, that FF feel will truly be there!
 
I play on occasion when I find the time on my friends account. I'm just super busy lol I read the new patch though so I really want to try it out now
 
Probably will stop playing once they add a subscription fee again but imma just leave this picture here for now...

Haven't payed any money for the game so I'm having fun so far but, the lag and UI issues are unacceptable. Also I play an Archer which is pretty horribad right now.
 
I thought they supposedly fixed all of the lag issues as well as improved the UI??? lulz.. I am somewhat saddened at SE's amazing looking failure. :/
 
the UI and lag is not that bad... the purpose of the rehaul is to they include stuff like a world search and some of the planned world party features, etc. If I'm not mistaken!
 
The UI lag has been improved but it isn't gone. The interface is still not up to snuff and the keyboard controls aren't where they need to be. They are still working on it. I have been logging in a lot recently and having a good time.
 
I updated the game after getting bored.

I'm redoing my character again but I'm still on Istory (I'll be Yukino instead of Akino).

I really like the changes and additions that have been made. But for me, I wanna re do it all again and enjoy myself. The path I took on Akino was all over the place so now I wanna do it all over again as Yukino and play casually and blah blah :)
 
Wait, they still havnt got a world search facility yet? This was one of my biggest gripes about the game when I started playing it and figured this would be put in long long ago. It was really irritating trying to find someone online before so figured this was necessary.

Yukino Miyazawa I thought sounded familiar then I did a bit of digging around and found it was the lead from Kare Kano (His & Her Circumstances). Coincidence or not, it was a good series that I saw a few months ago. *brofist*

You have to either have them in linkshell, or friend list, to check if they are online. Apparently something with the servers set up now, it really isn't possible. Atleast, in a timely fashion. So when 2.0 hits, that rehaul of server make it entirely possible.

/pcmd add "Name" works though^^ I honestly don't terribly miss the search, but it would be nice. Especially for a working party search that people would actually want to use! Parties normally formed in shouts, lol

Too bad I didn't know Istory is the non official server for Quetzalcoatl ppl.
hopefully I can meet u guys after server merge, but that really depends :/
