I was wondering if I could claim travel expencises use to travel to and from a work site. I live in boston and my last job had me living out of hotels all along the east coast. On some weekends and 3 day weekends I would travel home via greyhound/chinatown bus. I have saved the recepts of all this back and forth travel and wondering if I could claim this as an "un-remburst business expence"? I know I can claim my laptop as it was and still is a work tool that was not supplied to my by my company. Thanks

As long you have receipts, I think you're good to go with claiming that stuff. I know you can here in Illinois. The reason I'm saying "I think you can" is because all state laws are different.

Ugh, nvm, you're asking about federal. Yes, I believe you can.

I don't have an 800 number for H&R Block, but here is their website:

www.hrblock.com

Try looking up your question there mebbe.

Pretty sure you can claim that since the reason you went there was for business purposes.

I remember I had one interview where the guy brought us out to a really nice restaurant and he paid saying he could claim it later. :D
