I noticed the other day while me and some friend were playing with my Wii that the speakers in my Wiimote are getting kinda bad already. Like in bowling when you bowl is makes that whoosh noise when you move you arm forward, I've noticed that half the time the noise sounds like the speaker isn't working properly. Has anyone else noticed/had this problem or is it just mine?

I had that happen with 1 game in Rayman Raving Rabids, the pig game that you have to listen to the wiimote. About half the time it wouldn't work, but it was only with that one minigame and only in Rayman. I figured it was just a problem with Rayman more than the wiimotes since it wasn't happening that often.

When i opend my broken Wii remote the speaker had these conection tabs that touch the circut board. The two tabs need to be bent so that they make contact. My guess is that the speaker is not getting a good signal to the board and the tabs need to be rebent to make a solid conection.

My wiimote sounds bad on Zelda a lot, like it has a lot of static or something.

I dont use the speaker too much. I usually just go into the remote settings and turn the volume off. Saves battery life, too.

I think it might have had something to do with where my Wii was at. Because both of my Wiimotes have stopped acting funny and seem to be working fine and the only thing I did was go get my stand and put it sideways as opposed to laying flat.

The speaker was just too anoying when I heard it with Zelda. If you can turn it off, i'm going to do so.

It seemed as if with mine, the sound would be very quiet while playing Zelda. But I couldn't really figure out whether it was my hand covering the speaker, or something wrong with the Wiimote. Although, unfortunately, I haven't played Wii too much lately because I haven't gotten too into Wii Sports, and I've ran out of games to play.

Hit the home button, at the bottom of the screen is the wiimote settings, in there is the volume control for the wiimote's speaker.

I mute the speaker for battery life, and because generally it's pretty annoying.

I didn't think about muting the speaker to extend battery life. I might do that for some games, but I liked the sounds in zelda, they just need to be turned down a bit.

I thought my wiimote was getting crappy when I started playing DBZ:BT2 yesterday, but I soon realized I was failing because I was wii-tarded (I hate myself). After an hour or so of practice I was able to get it down and now i hate my wiimote less.

The sword swinging in Zelda is driving me crazy though. I can't horizontal swing to save my life.

Just wanted to pop in and say i hate you all because i envy your collective posession of the wii.

On a lighter note i'm learning lots not only from this thread but the others about what to look out for and what's good for the system gamewise and whatnot based on the threads for when i get mine come june.

So um... Thanks :)

Edit: typo .. i envoy you .. oi ><

Horizontal - swing when not Z targeting
Vertical - swing when Z targeting
Stab - moving forward and Z targeting

The only time a horizontal is really useful is for cutting down grass or something, when you'd normally not be Z targeting anyways.
