Every so often something like this happens to me, Farming all day to buy something expensive. I buy it, like 100 gil left, and all of a Sudden a buddy says to me:
Someone>>: Hey, you wanna go farm at <place to far to walk to>?
>>Someone: Sure! Be there soon!

Next thing:

It will cost 127 gil to rent a chocobo. You currently have 102 gil. Would you like to rent a chocobo now?

CRAP! So then I see someone's Bazzar, oh look, three shell shields for 100 gil, hmm Bastok Fame Level 4 = 112 gil for shell shields at npc shops. So I buy one, go sell it, buy one, go sell it, buy one, go sell it and I have the money I need! ^^

But, I did just rip someone off. (sorta) Anyone else ever do this? And should I feel guilty for it?
 
are you ripping them off? no

they set their prices, you arent making them lose money. Plus, the gain is so little for you that its not really going to make a difference.

I guess you're right, I never really looked at it that way.

I did once see a lvl 9 guy with no sub in Gustaberg with three backplates in his bazzar for 200 gil each and I was like "score!" but then my damn morals set in and I sent him a /tell.

Reminds me of my noob days when I got one and I was like "yee-ha! I can sell this at the weapons shop for 127 gil! ^^" :roll:

Yes, but this guilty feeling can be overcome by following the "Make a Donation" button displayed on the bottom of every QCDN.org page. It will make you instantly feel better.

Seriously though, you are just buying stuff for what they sell it for, it's really not your problem that they don't know better, and some measly amount of gil is certainly not worth losing any sleep over.

If someone outside the AH would offer me a 300k item for 30k, then I would probably let them know that the item is worth much more than they ask for, but the few gil you "made" off of them are hardly worth posting about, shameless post count bumper!!!#!#*!%#!%#@*!%#*!
 
i HATE haveing no cash on me. I was in lower Jeuno playing a friends character (who was broke) and checking all the bazarsout of habit.
Well, in one, i saw 5 Elemental staves. Each set at 30k. His character had 22k. And before i could even change to my character, who was in jeuno also, someone bought them all.


that being said, i never have less than 100k on me at all times >_<
