Anyone ever 'lose' items?

First let me explain the circumstances. I have 3 mules - 1 in each nation. 1 mule is for leveling crafts, one for selling stuff I farm and such, and the other storage.

My armor mule which is in San D'Oria was 50/50 Mog Safe and 23/30 Inventory of all my weaker jobs armor. Mainly, alot of that was for my Thief job... but some of it was for Ninja.

Now recently - within the past 2 weeks I've been interested in preparing to level my thief again as my whm approaches level 75. Low and behold - I hop onto my armor mule and LL Boots, and Emp Pin are missing. Yesterday, I got on my warrior, and noticed my Warrior Belt +1 was also missing. I'm sure there are other pieces of armor that had gone missing, but were {Too weak} and not noticeable.

1.) I really find it hard to believe that they have just gone missing. However, it is a possibility - so I'm asking if this has ever happened to anyone else.

2.) I honestly don't remember selling or loaning these out to anyone. Maybe I'm just losing my mind or something - but if I loaned you these, /tell or post here.

3.) I've got RL friends with access to my account (used to) but I don't think they would take them... but once again... also possible.

Has anyone ever had pieces of equipment just end up missing before?
 
A few synth items have gone missing from my mog before..
 
Mainly - I'm wondering how common a problem this is - as to whether or not it is worth my time to ask a GM. Cause I'm not made of gil, and I don't want to sink 2 mill into boots and pin - again /_\]
 
If you cannot put a finger on the time that the items went missing, the GMs might not have enough information on the problem. But it might be an issue worth addressing. If enough people complain about it, a bug might be searched for.

As for your items, I seriously doubt that they will be given back to you, under any circumstance. :cry:

And this is why it's possible~ I had a friend throw a Phantom Talum or w/e its call'd so that was 200k out the window. Took me a whole day to figure it out.
 
Osse had a problem similar to this over a year ago, when we'd first started. He'd log in, and be missing 10-30K gil from when he'd logged the night before. (Keep in mind at this time, it was shortly after the NA release when 30K wasn't chump change like today). He'd called a GM about it, and they basically said they couldn't do anything, and not to give his login information to anyone. Course, he hadn't done any such thing- the only person with his login info was me, and I certainly wasn't stealing from him. (Especially since every time he was short due to gil disappearing I'd end up giving him some, haha.)

After about the third time this happened, he increased his security setting so that a second password had to be entered at login. He hasn't had a problem since. We still don't know what caused the original gil disappearance, as it was only gil and never items that vanished.
 
Well - I think I will tell a GM just for the sake of telling. I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that I won't get my items back. heh - why would they care...

Actually, I did change my password shortly after I noticed the items missing.
 
I lost a pair of Leaping Boots once..They up and vanished. GM's wouldn't give me crap back. Not even a personal confrontation. Just a stupid message.

This worked for me and will probably end your problem as well, but yes your items are gone for good. I guess people hack into the FF servers and get user codes periodically. I found that out after the fact from a friend (Yomiku), who couldn't log into her character one day because a total stranger was playing him in the Dunes, lol. I thought it odd at first that they didn't just clean me out, but that would attract attention and warrent an investigation.
 
I was trying to pull an event together about a week ago and I was switching between linkshells. When I took off my shell and put on a sack to a different shell, my Linkshell *Vanished*.

I KNOW I didn't drop it or break it. All of the sudden, eleventy billion people came asking me why I broke their pearl. I was real confused at first, but when I went to put the shell back on, it was just not there.

The GM was about as helpful as a stick with a turd on the end of it :x

He said in order for me to get a shell back with the same name, I'd have to find every pearl that I have ever given out and have them destroyed.

I have given out hundreds of pearls. I find people everyday that I haven't talked to in months asking me why i broke their pearl.

That is the only Item I ever lost. It might have only cost me 7000g, but it was priceless :(
 
No, but there was once a mythril earring I found and have no idea how I got it.
 
I've lost a few twinthreads before (8 spools at once) and I know for sure I did not throw them away... unless I was drunk and playing, but, usually I'm not.

I've got one of them too (and I never bought one)... it's definitely a reward from an early quest. You probably just stuck it in your safe and forgot about it...
 
Well definitely interesting results - but yea, I didn't think I would get my gear back if I asked.

Phantom Tathalon went dissapearing on me. I was wearing it while farming beehive chips. Since I usually don't have a WS macro for my BLM I'm pretty sure I accidentally ranged attacked a Too Weak bee. Was so pissed I about broke my keyboard.
 
never had anything to big vanish just a pro ether and my easter event egg. Have not been on my mule for awhile though so dont know if anything else is missing
