How are you guys still enjoying WAR? I check the WARDB forum a bunch and I am seeing more and more threads like this popping up everyday.

this is an interesting read too

I do have to admit, after reading this, I feel like the beta played different from the accual release. PQs were always full with people. ORvR was more common than scenarios. It was just over all more fun I think. Don't get me wrong, I still really enjoy playing WAR. I don't see myself quitting anytime soon.

There is also talk about them releasing new servers which contain no scenarios. I don't know if this is the answer. I mean, I already think there are way too many servers which stagger the general population which maybe one of the reason for the imbalances we see per server.

I also can't help but to blame the players who grinded their way to 40 less than a month after the game is out and complaining that there is nothing to do. I don't think Mythic intended people to reach such high ranks so early on.

What do you guys think? What about the over all feelings on your servers? I know on Monolith, we've already had one of our large T4 Order guilds leave, and the leader from another leave. It's a little discouraging but I know at least for myself and my guild we are staying. It's looking much brighter, at least in T3. We have some really skilled players moving up in ranks.

Mythic just really needs to quit putting 99% of their effort on stability fixes and start working on the actual game. Class balances need to be started. Theres no reason why 1 Bright Wizard should dominate me, while it takes two Witch Hunters(A class designed specifically to counter casters) to maybe cause me to die. Magus needs to be brought closer in line to Engineer, utility wise. Both Magus and Engineer need their roles as area denial emphasized even further (a summonable/buildable 15~ foot wide wall would be a great start) Open RvR needs a fix, bad. A 50% experience bonus isn't enough. Renown needs boosted. Experience needs boosted. Defenders need some kind of method at getting the same PQ loot that the Offensive forces get. Scenarios need to take the backseat to Sieges. End of story.

Oh, and Tier 1, 2, and 3 PQs need to be made significantly easier. It should require several people to do, yes. It shouldn't however, hinder success on whether or not you have enough tanks and healers. They should be useful, but not the only key to winning. Tier 4 is another story, because you'll always have tanks and healers in Tier 4.

Since the lack of people doing PQs in T1-3, I've accually started scheduling Wednesday nights as our guild's PQ night. Other than that, I find myself solo farming INF, killing orcs until my eyes bleed x_x!

Aye PQ and Open RvR is dead. I'm just hoping it gets better. We need to educate the WoW kiddies that there's more to WAR than scenarios.

Black Guard and KotBS back in this December is ace news though.

Yeah, that means I can roll a Black Guard and dominate Tor Anroc using it's Away With Ye mirror.

I want to play a Blazing Sun Knight <3

I'm happy with the announcement today. They're going to attempt to fix the graphical lag that players on lower end machines get when trying to do PQs, ORvR, and Scenarios. So I'm not discouraged right now.

Although not having a T2 keep is becoming frustrating on my Destruction toon. Trying to find people to do it is damn near impossible.

I can honestly say I haven't had an issue lately with PQs. If there aren't people doing them, I manage to solo Stage 1 (in tier 3) and fill my influence and xp bars up pretty fast all by myself lol. When I get bored with that, I run around on my Cold One unlocking maps and getting xp that way, then I scenario and keep in renown up. My renown is only 3 levels behind my rank at the moment, and I don't plan to let it slip further back than that.

The discouraging things for me have mostly been the bugs that affect Order in a bad way, but not Destro. Sieging a keep and having the main door repop after 10 minutes is ridiculous when, on the other hand, Order defenders have to wait around an hour. Watching Destro run right through the wall of tanks around the Postern gate, etc. Ranged being unable to bear on the Oil, meaning we have to try and batter it down with a handful of siege weapons that can't match the repair rate of the 4 Destro fixing it, but when it's Destro's turn, it seems every damn Squig Herder in the zone can draw a bead on it.

Oh, and Skaw... Is your server just filled with the worst MDPS on Order ever or something? I've never had a problem soloing Magi, including those 3-4 levels higher than me.

Aren't you a Swordmaster? Them and Ironbreakers completely rip me a new one, since they're generally geared with a lot more toughness, which reduces my DoT ticks significantly.

yeah I have problems with ironbreakers and sword masters as well QQ

Newp. Pure Witch Hunter. I rarely allow Magi to live long enough for their DoTs to matter, at least when it's me attacking them, rather than the reverse. Pretty much anything in the game can kill me if I'm otherwise occupied (WH are hella squishy) but conversely, I can also solo pretty much anyone I fight most of the time so long as it's one-on-one. Depends on tactics, obviously. My default DoT/Execution tactics set (Flowing Accusations and Prolonged Confession) doesn't allow for particularly efficient soloing of melee, but it does allow me a ton of spite kills. Looking forward to 30 so I can set Flowing Accusations, Full Confession, and Righteous Steel.

For Magi, assuming I'm not using Sudden Accusation and laughing my ass off as they run themselves to death, Silence the Heretic, Punish the False, 3 Fervors and a Burn Heretic, next squishy please. Absolution if they look like they might survive long enough to be a nuisance and I got lucky with Flowing Accusations. I've had some fun matches in Tor Anroc where Destro is rushing our bauble carrier and I've recently died. Jumping off the ledge Incognito, and dropping all of their Magi/Sorcs in quick succession since the healers are distracted with the tanks.

I've been kinda tempted to respec to Confession lately. Inquisition probably has more overall utility, but Confession can be fairly nasty in stand up fights. It's also the path with the only freakin' non-Morale self-heal the WH gets.

correction, I used to have problems with sword masters and iron breakers *grin*

I respec'd my mastery training, and had no problems taking them out, even though most of the time I ended up dieing as well :p

Discouraged. Game is pretty boring at the end game, and 3 day lockouts and 6 man restrictions make the limited PvE content too infrequent to be enjoyable. We are basically a guild of small static groups the way this game is set up.

Will probably be back to playing a content-less Vanguard at some point. At least that game made me feel attached to my character.

The discouraging thing for me these days is how much PVE plays into RVR. Aside from the instanced dungeon fights, which given my long-ass history here in FFXI don't particularly bother me, the fact that because Order is heavily outnumbered on Monolith, Destro basically gets a free ride in zone control, is intensely irritating. We can cap all the keeps/objectives in a zone, spend an hour killing every Destro stupid enough to face a pair of coordinated warbands, and still not get the bar to full, just because Destro has nearly 2-1 numbers on us.

My husband and I both canceled our subscrips last night. I've been stuck at rank 28 for quite some time. There are very few people doing rvr in T3 anymore and scenarios are popping once every 30 minutes at best, sometimes longer. If they don't readdress the scenario pop issue, then we're completely done with this game.

Weird, on my server there's always plenty of t3 and t4 RvR going on in prime time (t4 nearly all day every day) and scenarios pop every 10-15minutes usually. Maybe for once EU servers are decent lol.

Aye, scenarios and ORvR are both pretty active in Monolith, though in some ways less so since Mythic allowed Destro to zerg the piss out of our server. Prior to the transfers, we were building up quite nicely. After the transfers, we were left with the worst balance of any high-population server.

Right now it's all we can do to keep Destro out of Altdorf, through no particular skill on Destro's part. Scenarios are still quite active, but oRvR actually became less hotly contested after Order simply burned out trying to stop the uberZergs Destro was assembling.
