Anyone have a candy/fruit result guide?

lol i think i spent maybe 2-4k on this event, got a pumkin hat and a warp staff ^^ so it's gotta be random.

agreed, I got about 6k invested and got a Trick staff II and a Treat staff II as well. Only items I've used have been grapes and farie apples. :D
My guess is its random.

Been rotating Apples and Grapes in Sandy.

18 stacks of fruit -> 3 staves (+1 I lost because I already had one), 3 heads and 7 Jack o lanterns ^^

I spent 20k on oranges in windy, got every item except Treat Staff II (it tried to give me a few repeats of the other items for some reason).

Ok it is not random there is a way to gaurante you get the items... Ready fo it? Trade a sweet to EVERY NPC in a given zone. The last one will give you an item.

Nope. I was running around yesterday collecting quests and figured I might as well hand out fruit while I was at it, and didn't get anything.

This event's going to go on through Halloween right? I'll be back on FFXI on the 30th, and really want to get that staff with the latent "Warp" effect :)

The latent effect warp staff is utterly worthless. Took me 10 mins of meleeing too weak to get it to kick in even once. Only ones useful are Treat Staff II and the other with 10 warps on it.

I don't see how the latent effect warp is useless. Seems to my like it would be a excellent way out of the deep jungles of khazam if you don't have invisible. From what I've read, taking damage is the trigger effect, so just find a nice mandy and have a quick warp home. Of course, I don't have one yet, so someone please correct me if I'm mistaken. I'd hate to find out the hard way... ^^

I think I have the answer. I got it all through experience / luck / and tips
from other people. At some point it does seem purely random and other
times it falls into patterns.

Another guide went like this: (my experience followed exactly, but others have reported to get items OUT OF THE NORMAL ORDER.)

starting out with nothing:
you get a TRICK STAFF
Equip the staff to receive a TREAT STAFF (The best one out there IMO)

you get a PUMPKIN HEAD
Equip the head to get PUMPKIN HEAD II

I don't remember if my PUMPKIN HEAD II was equipped or not but
I skipped the horror head and received the HORROR HEAD II.

I've received many Jack-o-lanterns (+10accuracy and evasion?)
I'll hold onto these.

No HQ staves as yet, but the TREAT STAFF isn't on a timer so you get as
many warps as you want.... best staff for the event in my opinion.

some unsubstantiated tips say to spam-trade a non-mobile npc then after
receiving an item trade to a mobile one. Flip-flop between the two.
That seems to work but uncertain for sure.

Items to trade?
ANY candy or fruit. (cakes / other sweets too) Get TWO of the cheapest
things you can find IE: apples / grapes alternate the trading to the NPC.
Give an apple then give a grape. I heard the NPC gets bored with you
if you give it the same thing over and over so I alternated.

WARNING:
Spam shouts for "Buy from my bazzar. Item XXX really works." should
be ignored. They are just going to make you pay 40,000 gil ultimately
for your halloween items.

fight stronger mobs... This is the BEST staff for the event as there
is no timer for it. You get it whenever you want. I used it leveling in
Yhoater Jungle. Afterwards, I normally ask BLM's for a 500gil or 1kgil
warp. Now I just equip the staff and attack an IVORY LIZARD.

People saw me doing this and laughed. I took one or two hits and warped.
I don't know, everyone's opinion is diff. but I like this staff the best.
...no waiting 5 days to get a warp from it...

continuing the TREAT STAFF discussion...

I plan on equipping it if I get into trouble an am unable to zone.
Hopefully it will save my butt.

My friends tried to do that to get out of the zone also because they heard hitting VT and IT makes it go faster...guess what happened. 8) They got a nice home point warp after dying and not having the staff kick in. That is an extremely risky way to warp just to save 500 gil for a warp (for the few times you go exping without a blm in your party). About the only one who might be able to safely consitently do that would be a tank character since anyone else just gets torn up way too fast that you could die even while warping.

LOL ok i agree to a small bit, however I am a WAR/SAM <Galka>.
So i would whole-heartedly agree if I was a taru-mage,,,,,,but
then I might be a BLM and have warp anyhow.

I'd still like to get a treat staff even if it isn't always 100%. As a future BST it'll be nice to have for warping back to town and not having to sub blm or use instant scrolls of warp.
