I'm moving to Vilnius, Lithuania for a year in March and was just wondering if anyone has been there or knows anything about it because I don't know much.

I have friends from Lithuania, from the pictures i've seen it looks a nice country. The people if they're anything like the Lithuanians i've met, are lovely people. The vodka is superb, they make rather nice lager. From what my friends have told me about Lietuva (Lithuania in Lithuanian, at least I think it's that) it's a nice place. Vilnius has a massive memorial to Napoleon's soldiers aswell, apparently a lot were massacred by cossacks/died of starvation around there. They still find bodies when they are building etc.
Seems like there's a lot of history around there and also it's apparently becoming a big tourist destination in Europe, in a similar vein to Prague.

Thanks Sharpe, been reading a lot about it today and it sounds crazy. I'll be living in Old Town, Vilnius which is a party mecca I guess.
