I can't choose! Help prz!!!

AoC is dying, almost dead... and very little content after 20 it seems. Warhammer would be the better if you HAD to choose between the too :P I'd say WoW with WoTLK being pwnsomely awesome but ya, that's up to you. In the end, saving money might be better and avoiding all XD

Isn't WAR dead too? Seems like it to me. At the very least, what an epic flop.

WoW or bust.

Yep. The group quests thing..nobody does and everyone hates because of the random shit. Horrible population balance. It's dead just like AoC.

My totally unbiased opinion as an active player in two MMO's currently.

Don't start anything, you're only going to end up getting addicted.

No experience with AoC, but I've played WAR for a month or so and then quit. WAR had quite a bit of potential but the push to release it early before Wrath came out left a lot of bugs in it. The game was fun but honestly not the best investment and if you like PvE content then it's not the game for you at all. The PvP would be better if there were multiple scenarios available instead of one at a time on the server.

Save your money or go with WoW since it's far more stable and if you got crackhead friends playing (lolTidy) then it makes the game even better.

That's why there are several different scenarios rather than several instances of one game, they want to vary the different game types as much as possible.

I was speaking more along the lines of only one scenario that was more available i.e. popular due to xp reward at the end. A perfect example is Tor Anroc in T3. People queued up for that mostly since it offered the most xp at the end since the round had to reach 500. Doomfist Crater was another one but that could easily be bungled.

The population imbalance hurt the amount of scenarios available as well, it was hit or miss and what time of day that you could get into one in a timely manner.

Neither. Warhammer has(had?) potential to be good, but I don't think they know what to do to get it there. It's essentially a huge zerg fest with minimal skill involved, or a series of static 6man groups.

AoC is a steaming pile of horse shit. If you buy it, we will all laugh at you. (Though I'll sell ya an 80 ranger t1 raid geared account :P)

Get Vanguard or World of Warcraft.

Vanguard is fun as hell and probably the best game out there (better than WoW imo in actual gameplay and challenging content) and is worth playing through at least once if you're a diehard MMO player. I'm back to playing that and raiding there is the best raiding out there from what I can tell. The development team assigned to VG is unfortunately extremely small and therefore slow in producing/fixing shit due to limited resources, but the game is still awesome. No telling if it'll ever rebound to a point where the game's population could be considered healthy, but SoE swears that they have big plans for VG and the short-term enjoyment alone is well worth the investment imo.

World of Warcraft is probably your safest bet though. This game never grabbed me, but it is about as stable an MMO as you'll ever find. With all these recent flops that is a damned appealing characteristic.

Thanks alot guys, all of your feedback has helped me alot! :]

Yeah, WAR isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. It's just that there isn't enough to do. What you can do is pretty much completely enjoyable.. until you get bored of it. Which'll happen fast. It needs significant variety added/enforced before it tanks.

Get whatever MMO your friends are playing. Knowing just one person to run around with from the start can make any game a blast.

Although if they're playing a trash game, disregard the above and make new friends.

WAR could be good, but like any game centered around PVP, the devs can't make players choose sides, so you'll always have balance issues in a game like this.

I didn't say Warhammer was bad. I said it wasn't good. There is a difference. If you read my post, I said that AoC was bad...and it is.

As I pointed out above, 300 man zerg fest raids with intense lag and zone crashing are not all that appealing, and that content happens to be at the center of Warhammer's gameplay. There is no display of skill in that type of content. Whoever can keep more people from crashing before the objective is reached wins. Awesome...

The PvE content was fairly fun (though ridiculously easy), but the 6 man restrictions coupled with the lockout timers force you to play with 5 other people if you want to get anything done efficiently within a guild. In a game where the "i'm in this world" feeling is totally lacking it was hard to keep seasoned MMO players interested in the content to begin with, and lockout restrictions on 6 man content was the straw that broke the camel's back in this regard.

Keep in mind it is hard to balance classes for both PvP and PvE...so regardless of what kind of PvE content comes out, the developers will always have War characters balanced for PvP (which they did a decent job with prior to the new classes coming out). This takes away a lot of the challenge in finding the right class combinations for various encounters, as most classes of the same archetype essentially have the same shit.

Boring is exactly the word I would use to describe it. There is very little (if anything) in that game to make me give a flying fuck about what my character is or represents.
