You also need to do a quest that requires you to go back into the original three promys to check a point at the top.alanon said:I hesitate to give BCNM details because of spoilers, but suffice it to say that the requirements are that you need ZMs complete (ALL ZM, not just sky access), CoP complete, AND you have to have done the forst Bahumut fight.
Here's the earrings:

Blms wants max dmg per mp spent, I think that is a better way to put it. That's why whms don't nuke, we have a poor dmg/mp ratio on anything except undead (which we can equal blms on). The static earring increases the dmg side of the ratio during mbs while the magnetic with its conserve+ will decrease the mp side all the time.MP is simply not a concern for BLM, we can get MP back quickly. BLM wants to get max damage per nuke and lowest resist and hate possible.
I thought someone who got it on this board said it didn't actually reduce the dmg taken. Anyway, 3% is insignifigant for a blm. If a blm takes 600 dmg he's nearly dead and only got 18 mp out of it, not even enough for a cure 2. Good for tanks who take dmg in large amounts all the time. Worthless to everyone else.Eulore said:It's so godly for pld and on blm if you get hate you lose 3% less hp and gain mp if you macro it in.

Yeah I know, but I was specifically responding to a statement by Eulore...the part I quoted.Blowy said:The OP is a high PLD as well as a high BLM. I'm pretty sure that's why they were looking at the etherial...
That would work fine if the only thing you did was mb all the time or none of the time, except mbs are always mixed with regular nukes. Which leads us to the problem fire discribed. If you equip it everytime you cast that nuke element, you are going to be equiping it even for regular nukes where it does you no good and is wasted the majority of the time. Its an extremely situational earring that requires a lot of effort for small effect.I'll macro in static on the element of choice pretty easily takes 1 line.
/equip Ear1 "Static Earring"
and when i'm not using that element for bursting i just comment it out
//equip Ear1 "Static Earring"
Yeah, sorcerors ring becomes pretty easy once you get enough hp->mp gear you can swap on and off. Just hit one macro to put it on, then a restore macro and you're set.Orchid said:meh you should see what I have to do to situationally use my sorcerers ring consistently.. be easier when i can get 3 zenith items SOLELY to macro them in and out to drop myself to yellow HP so any wandering mage cant ruin 5min of work with a stray cure.

Aeron said:Well thanks for the replies, I chose Ethereal. I figured my BLM had enough stuff as it is now and it was time to pimp PLD a littleAnd besides, i can merit for dmg on BLM, but i can't really get anything like Ethereal gives through merits for PLD
Thanks for answering![]()
