I started out in the rap thread because i thought it was cool, and when he responds not hard to have half of 60 posts about one guy. I bet half of your posts is where Jamal has also posted. Shadow him more plz.

You fail at image posting almost as much as you fail at life.

I'm not crying for a damn thing, I'm just simply pointing out that you're an idiot. It's not just 'Jamal and his tag-alongs' (which if could search the site you would see I am, very much, not one of those) that care about this. It's a lot of people. Just because you think people should 'learn to take a joke' doesn't mean they have to change what they think or what they believe to be wrong just so you, and whomever's dick you chose to hang on this week, can have a good time.

It's about community. This is a community. If the general user population (or even by societal standards) finds something distasteful, it shouldn't be here. Racial remarks of any kind (bastardizations, jokingly or not) are included in that. Just because you're too sheltered or don't give enough of a flying fuck to realize that this actually is something thats wrong, doesn't mean you can post here like people agree with you. Because I can say with quite a bit of certainty, that they don't.

Feel free to go rot your brain elsewhere.
 
I had a long post defending the lack of filters. Then I realized I am all for having filters. I found I was guilty of my own ideal world allusion in that awesome post I typed up.

Reeve is not the guy to blame for some idiot spamming racially heated material. Moderators are not to blame for leaving the content visible. The only idiots people should be mad it, are the idiots that post the material.

Yea, we can hide it. It is Reeve's forum, he may do what he wishes. But why hide it? Once words are said, even if the poster tries to hide the word to make it somehow, 'more acceptable,' (i.e. 'ni--a') then the message has been delivered. Ignorance has been spread. How does a filter make you any more happy than the word just being typed out in it's entirety?

I am pro filters for the comfort of just not seeing the words at all. In reality, I realize I am just as silly as the rest of us for thinking if I can't see it, then it isn't there.

If someone posted something like so, and by God, in no means is this my prerogative:
"****** stole my bike."
The ****** is no different than just reading the damn word in the first place.

My point is, get mad at the idiots that use the terms, and not the system for trying to handle stupidity.

Reality does not post here ^.^; D= I don't even know if he still plays XI anymore ;_;. He helped me with my WHM AF and later some THF AF I believe.

Surely I am not the only person who frequents this board that finds it laughable that people throw such a huge fit over some words and comments, yet let other things slide without so much as a peep. I don't remember anyone being in an uproar in the LOL pictures thread when the pic was posted of the guy with the rocket launcher and the word N****R in huge white letters. A picture which was quoted at least once, if not twice in that thread. Also in that thread there were a lot of other racially and socially insensitve pictures posted. Probably the most disturbing of which are a few of the "Pedobear" pics and some of the others that treat pedophillia in a joking manner.

My point is this, if you're going to start curbing some forms of insensitive speech and expression, then you better start curbing them all and doing in objectively, regardless of context. Obviously, this is a virtually impossible task so the alternative is this: allow members of the community to excerise some self-sufficiency and use things like the "ignore member" feature. Also, if someone wants to go on a verbal diarrhea tirad of racial slurs or socially insensitive comments, let them and let others respond in kind if they so choose. If some one wishes to express the level of their intelligence and maturity in that matter, it's their responsibility as it everyone else's responsibility in how they receive that kind of message and how they let it affect them.

One final thing. Remember where you are; the Internet. This place isn't exactly a Utopia or a paradigm of social honor. Sure I understand that the real world sucks for the most part and a lot of the things we hear and see out there we don't necessarily want to put up with here but people need to stop taking things so seriously or you're going to give yourselves a stroke before you're in your 40s.

Filters are useless. If you can count and know English, they are transparent. Not to mention, there's so many holes in filtering.
Who decides what is "offensive"? Just because it offends one thin-skinned wuss, should it be deemed "unacceptable? By that cast, you had better whip out bans for everyone calling anyone "retard" or "moron" or "idiot" because those are not only "offensive" but insulting to the people who are actually of lower intellect.
 
This topic is full of so much fail now that I don't even know where to start. I stick to what I said a long time ago. The mods should put a little more time into modding than just go for the quick and dirty solution. When topics derail into flames, either move them entirely or even better, yank out the offending posts and put THEM on the flameboard. Don't just delete them all and slap on a lame punishment. This isn't a site for babies, and most of the posters here know each other. Just moderate by keeping things where they belong and stop the slap on the wrists shit.

Carry on with the lame topic now.
