Are you a whm thinking about joining BoL?

Personally I do not favor LS loot. Players put in their time, they get gear for a job well done, not for a job that will be well done.

However, if one joins a LS, then one implicitly agrees to the LS rules. If the rules state that the tunic belongs to the LS, then that is what it is.

Word was he and watch agreed to 2 mos = nobles.

Ya ask me it's more on them than it is him, he just doesn't sound like enough of a prick to not think they'd do him right.

I just found out what it takes to pop kirin and get the cloth. Now i know its hard and what not and busta could have done a little more work for the nobles but the reason for taking it away is BS.

Holy crap quit with the ridiculous exaggerations. Deci never once said that the WHM in question was supposed to blow off the actual birth of his baby for a god fight. Get that trash out of here, you are making yourself sound more ridiculous with each post.

I really don't know, and I really don't know what BoL's rules say about who a Nobles belongs to.

All I am saying is that you (as in the reader, not you as in Mokk exclusivly) shouldn't break BoL's balls for doing what's right by them. They, as a LS, wanted an active WHM, if that player can no be online, regardless of circumstances, then that player is not useful to the LS. It's simple really.

The truth that many don't like to hear is that end-game in any MMO isn't about the guy next to you. The guy next to you is just a means to an end. Those in end-game guilds want end-game content, they want players who can collectivly provide that content. When players are unable to participate, then they are out. Is it "fair"? Maybe not, but life isn't fair.

Bottom line: If BoLs rules say that a player needs to return Nobles when they become inactive, then those are the rules, accepted by members. Done and done.

If the BoL rules do not explicitly specify that high end gear needs to be returned, then the player has the right to keep the gear.

I mean the whole thing is not up to interpretation. Appeals to pity will not win people over. It's a clear cut issue, all that needs to be posted here is what BoL's rules say about what happens to high end gear when players go inactive or leave.

According to deci so far endgame > everything. i don't think it's a ridiculous comparison at all.

That was mainly a joke but he did say "Having a Baby isn't an excuse to me" thats bad enough on its own

All 9 of you who can't seem to understand what it means to be part of a group and try to help each other out, etc, go fuck yourselves. If you're going to put in effort to the group, get your item, then pretty much stop showing up, why bother. I play this game to improve myself and my linkshell. If you aren't in it to help others, why the fuck should I bother spending my time helping people who only care about themselves?

I play this game cause I love the people I play with every day, helping friends improve themselves, and a whole bunch of other soft mushy crap reasons. I've made plenty of sacrifices in RL for this LS. My last g/f that I had, was with her for a year and a half. This woman was incredible, I could spend hours describing how much fun and how many awesome things I did with her. Travelled throught Central America with her, all around the US, had a crazy foursome (Not to brag, just make a point), I could go on forever. Bottom line, I've put all my energy into this LS, and some of my friends are even closer than some of my RL friends that I've known since childhood. My girlfriend started getting jealous that I was spending all my time playing FFXI. I spent a good amount of time playing it but we'd go out every night on the weekends or days we didn't have to work. Became such a problem I had to dump her. No joke and I could care less what you have to say about that lol.

Point is! I want people who feel the way I do about this game to play with me. I've been in BOL for at least a year now, I've received 3 items from sky from them. You don't hear me god damn bitching. I guess since I've been doing sky for a year, that means i deserve lets see here.... (12 months divided by 2.... equals 6....) 6 Noble's Tunics for the time I've spent in here? and certainly been a lot more active than Busta? Come on now..... All 9 of you guys who are on Bustas side don't have a clue what loyalty or dedication means.

That i can dig.

I have no issues with "hey you've been gone for a minute, how's everything? it's been a while since you've been here and i hate to ask but can we have that nobles back till we're sure you're a lifer?" which was the party line.

Instead he got that line and then got fucked, that i take issue with ... that and deci having his/her head completely up their ass about what goes on in the first few weeks of having a child.

No WYS never made that agreement... no one has ever been told they can have something after a certain amount of time being in LS active, and that will never happen.

End game is not > everything, but it is designed for people with alot of time to sink into it. People who are looking to reap the benefits without putting in the appropriate amount of time (An amount which varies from shell to shell of course) should not be looking to join these shells to begin with, or else be joining shells who move at a pace more realistic to the individuals playing schedule.

On the flipside he said he had told them, they shoulda booted him ahead of time if it was going to be a problem.

So what is the official BoL rule about what happens to Nobles or similar high end gear if a player leaves or becomes inactive?

yeah I was willing to do what they said.. show up to kirin and get it back? I can do my best to show up no prob.. but then I get kicked after being promised all of this...

I'll believe it when i hear it from watch ... oh wait no i won't, having taken a note from busta's screens.

so *why* was he given it in the first place then?

I suppose if its not vocalized, its more of an unspoken courtesy within LS' to assume to an item like that which can be used to benefit the group as a whole, would be LS property. The noble thing (unintentional pun) to do imo would have been to just return the tunic in the first place until the member was able to commit more time to the overall efforts of the shell.

A) Don't give someone something unless they have earned it, you want them to have it, and you expect them to keep it.
B) An item being "LS owned" is one of the single most annoying, greed filled cop-outs there is.

Them's my two cents.

/sigh well like Godpoing said in LS chat earlier, "Bout time we get another flame going." -.-

Anyway, being in BoL there's some points I've agreed with in this whole conflict and some I don't agree with.

#1. Busta I don't agree in you using your Baby as an excuse. Common sense really, I'm not a parent myself, but a newborn baby WILL take up your time, and like most ppl agree here, RL > FFXI. However, common courtesy would be to at least give us a heads up or something around the lines of, "Guys my new baby will definitely take up alot of my game time, but I'll let the LS use my Tunic, and when I come back to being more active, you can give it back to me." Instead you left it as, "I'm not gonna be less active now because of my newborn baby." and just disappeared with the tunic.

Many ppl that are in a God LS here can agree that a shining cloth/nobles tunic is bascially the "Fruit of labor" of it, and if one can't live up to it or have to take a break or something, have the common courtesy and "lend" it to another whm you trust in your LS that doesn't have one so the LS can utilize the tunic still in your absence if you will be gone for an extended period of time.

I mean look at Pheebe/Pheona, she wanted to play her Monk more, and she had a tunic on her whm, but tho she was on her monk more than her whm, she lended the Tunic to Geneviene. Yeah Pheona had gotten her WHM AF2 body piece, and could've sold the Tunic, but did she? No. She had the common courtesy to the LS to let a whm that didn't have a tunic she trusted use it to help the LS. The tunic is still Pheebe's but since she doesn't use her whm as much and plays on mnk more, she still lended it to a whm w/o a tunic to help the LS.

#2. WYS, I don't agree with you taking the tunic after tricking Busta into giving it back. If it was me, I would've asked Busta for the tunic on the grounds of him having a newborn baby and all and not being active as much, and when he started to show up more in being active in the LS, I would gladly give it back to him.

#3. I don't agree with your notion Busta of "Having put in the time for the nobles" justifying your point. Like Deci says, most whm have put in more than enough time than 2 months to "earn" a tunic. Reason why BoL was practically "giving away" tunics was because we wanted our whm core to be all done with having a tunic and be able to cash out on the shining cloth drops ASAP to help with the "Wishlist". However, that backfired on us and lot of the whm that practically got a tunic easier than most of our veteran whms "disappeared" after getting it.

Anyway, those are my points I want to make on this flame. I do agree that it is sad that this has happened to you, but the points you use to justify yourself I just don't agree with because you could've at least lended the tunic to the LS before you disappeared leaving us with the, "I'm sorry guys but I'm gonna be less active now because of my newborn baby." statement to go on.

WYS, I know you got really pissed over this, but this could've been avoided by just taking the tunic from Busta on grounds of not being active enough in the LS, keeping him in the shell, and then giving back the tunic to him when he becomes more active.

See thats the thing people are missing, BoL is crying saying Busta was for the good of the LS but when Busta came back he gave back the tunic just to show you guys he is willing to work in the LS and what do you guys do boot him out again. BoL charma can be a bitch.
