Are you ready for some...

The bears *beat* the vikings? Oh man thats a good one. Especially with how the vikes don't completely suck at the end of the season now.

I wish you'd fucking give it up on Grossman already, lol. I'll give you the fact that the o-line is bad, but the dude just plain sucks. Well, he'll be great 4 games a year, and shit the other 12.

Ok lets see what happens when you put Tom Brady behind the Bears offensive line. The same shit is going to happen because 2 seconds isn't enough time for any QB but a scrambler. If Grossman was still throwing picks with a good amount of time back there then yes I would say yes he sucks, but I want to see him behind a good offensive line. No the offensive line last year wasn't all that good Thomas Jones just makes so many cuts that he made the offensive line look good. I really want to see a new offensive line built then see how Grossman and Benson do before we ostracize them.

Now here is my next point: GIVE CEDRIC BENSON A FULL BACK BLOCKER. He makes the good runs if he has a lead blocker from FB not a guard. He is a power back not a back that makes cuts like Thomas Jones.

Put Brady back there and he's still 1000% better than Suckman, lol. Brady played with a mediocre O-line his first 2.5 years, and put up respectable numbers. The Pats O-line started being "dominant" (if you can call it that) in 2004.

Oh ya real original Suckman did you think of that yourself? Jesus Shyrra there use to be a time where you use to pull witty one liners, but damn that was weak.

A mediocre line is fucking better than this Bears line. This offensive line is absolutely terrible if it weren't for the Lions Oline I'm sure the Bears would have the worse Oline in Football today.

Mike North of The Mike North Morning Show on 670 WSCR The Score said it best why not stick in the practice squad guys? I want to see them play because I'm sure at this point it doesn't matter (this was week 13 maybe 14). Young and inexperienced versus old and slow no harm could be done.

I mean when your coach says something like Reuben Brown has arm pain so we're putting him on the DL for that. They're going to operate on his arm pain to fix the arm pain. Or this gem of We ran the ball well, but we figured at some point the defense would just stop the run so we stopped running the ball.

That last one is holds true to anything the Bears do well in the first half. Like the past few weeks the Bears have been running a quick no huddle short pass offense well (see the vikings game Adrian Peterson had 8 catches for 51 yards). After the second half they just stopped doing this for no reason at all.

I actually did think of that myself :) and I rather enjoyed it.

Grossman may not be the main problem, dude, but you stick up for him like he's DONE SOMETHING. He's crap, he showed it in 10 of 16 games last year. 6 good games last year, 6-7 below average, and 3-4 horrible ones. You asked what would happen if you put Brady back there, and the answer is he sure as hell would be better, lol, he might not win, but you put Brady on the Bears team last year, and they probably win the fuckin superbowl, lol.

Of course you enjoyed the comment because your simple bandwagon mind thought of it. You know what I'll call Tom Brady? Lucky. It wasn't Brady winning Superbowls it was Adam Vinatieri hitting those field goals that won the Pats their super bowls and the AFC championship.

How do you know he would be a hell of a lot better? You said Brady has played behind mediocre lines not a terrible offensive line. Actually no the Bears probably wouldn't have won the super bowl last year because the defense played like shit and got killed on the short slot receiver routes the whole game.

Of course, I have a "simple bandwagon mind." Keep the ad hominem shit outta here and argue football. Just because I agree with the majority, does not mean that I am a bandwagoner. It never occured to you that I had watched some games, watched his performance, and made my own decision, hmm?

Brady wasn't "lucky." Brady engineered the drive in every single playoff game that got Vinatieri into range to kick those FGs. The credit goes to both of them, and the entire offense, but Brady led the team down the field to give Vinatieri the chance to kick, and sure as shit, he made the Field Goals.

I don't "know" he would be better, but that's what I believe, because he's a better quarterback than Grossman. He's proven he can do it over and over against great defenses, and against adversity. He'd do the same given a crappy O-line. As for the superbowl? Nevermind the rediculously dumb throws that Grossman made.. Yeah, I agree, the bears D was shit vs the Colts, but the offense never gave em a friggen chance. Hester was the only thing workin lol.

Hey you made yourself fair game by making a stupid little comment. So fair game.

Corey Dillion, Kevin Faulk, and the Pats defense have done nothing to help the Pats win? Not to forget if it wasn't for Bledsoe getting hurt in the one AFC game in 2001 Brady wouldn't have even gotten a shot until they let Bledsoe go. So Tom Brady no matter what you say is lucky.

I didn't say Brady wasn't a better QB, but behind this Bears offensive line any QB that is a pocket passer is not going to fair well at all. That pocket collapses with in two seconds to the point that Grossman, who due to being rolled on not once but twice in pre-season on his legs, has to move or throw it up in order to not take a sack. This is why the short routes have been working for the bears because Grossman/Griese/Orton have been able to get rid of the ball quickly as to not get hit from the collapsing pocket.

The offense never got a chance to get going because the Colts offense was on the field most of the game. When the bears offense was on it was getting stopped nothing happening because Ron Turner is a bad coach. Grossman wasn't going time in the pocket or there were snaps missed which either falls onto Grossman or Kreutz. Also you fail to remember that the 2006 season was Grossman's first full season as starting quarterback.

I never made any direct attack at you, I made a "witty"(ish) comment about a player that expressed my opinion about him.

And of course the defense plays a huge part in winning, and I credited the entire offense in my last post for those drives (which is what I was referring to in the first place, hence not crediting the defense as well) but the fact remains that Tom Brady is the one who engineered the drives. As great a job as everyone does, the Quarterback's performance is, in most cases, the most noticable.

I agree with you on one thing for sure, your O-coordinater is a friggen moron. He needs to realize that the short passes are A. what the team needs, because the deep plays take too long to develop, and B. what the QB needs(Orton OR Grossman), they help develop confidence and eventually open up the deep route.

The only reason I'm arguing with you is this: I agree the Bears have a shitload of problems and the QB is not the only one... I want to know why in hell do you think Grossman has any shot at being good? He's been given a boatload of chances, albeit many of them under strenuous circumstances, but has been good in very few of those chances.

I didn't make an attack at you I just expressed my opinion that I think you're a bandwagon fan.

Yes you expressed opinion, but the truth is you blame Grossman for the interceptions yet you never really see Bears games to know that most of his interceptions are from throwing them up because his pocket collapsed around him. Grossman is no longer a mobile quarterback because of the injury to his ankles and his ACL.

No you didn't credit the entire offense. You credited Tom Brady saying he engineered the drive he made the drive. It wasn't Tom Brady alone it will never be Tom Brady alone. He does get play calls through an ear piece on the helmet even in no huddle hurry up offenses. Look to Charlie Weis maybe even Belichick was making the calls on those drives. Give the credit to the coaches for calling the plays. Yes Brady made the passes down field for a receiver to get down field.

Grossman does get confidence when he plays. Why do you think he was amazing for the first 5-6 weeks of 2006 looking like an MVP caliber QB? He had confidence and receivers actually catching balls. Hell Orton lead the Bears to the playoffs in 05 on the back of the defense. Orton and Grossman can get confidence then the confidence gets stripped away by bad play calls going down the field. Would you have confidence knowing that a majority of the time your receivers don't come up with the bomb? I sure as hell wouldn't. Look at Brett Favre he's a perfect example a lot of the bombs he makes are thrown up knowing that his receivers will come down with it 90% of the time.

I think Grossman deserves a shot behind a new offensive line because he has talent in him, but because of injuries he's lost the ability to escape the pocket a majority of the time and has to throw it up. I want one season of him behind a line like Indy's or the Steelers to see if there is improvement because those times where he does get sufficient time behind the line he's good if there are receivers actually open to come down with the ball.

There you go.

and dude.. If the pocket collapses around a QB.... they need to just take the sack or make sure they throw the ball in the friggen stands. Throwing the ball up because the pocket is collapsing is bad quarterbacking.

I don't think Grossman is at all confident with his recievers.. that's why they need to start running a sort of dink'n'dunk offense, that'll build confidence and eventually open up the deep routes. There's a reason Brett Favre holds the all-time NFL interception record.. that's because he DOES have a tendency to make ill-advised throws and just throw it up. It's not smart quarterbacking. Sure, sometimes it works, but it's just not smart. You don't see Peyton Manning or Tom Brady do that very often, they check it down to the RBs, or throw it in the stands, or just take a sack if they have to.

If you think Grossman has the talent, then you may very well see something I don't. In the games I've seen of him, I've seen some good throws, so it's clear he can make most, if not all, the throws needed from an NFL QB.. but most QBs in the NFL CAN do that. The thing I question about him is his decision making. He's had a bit to develop (granted, not really long enouhg) but I seriously question a lot of his reads when I watch him play. He throws balls that shouldn't be thrown, and pays for it with lots and lots if INTs lol.

The good part, for you at least, ist that if the Bears front office is smart... They'll realize that honestly, they need to draft/trade to improve their unusually weak defense, and O-line/recieving corps first, and Grossman may yet get another shot. Very possible they fold to the court of public opinion and grab another QB because they want to please the fans though.

I didn't say it was smart, but every QB will throw it up from time to time. Also taking a sack is a bad thing because you risk injury, hi injuries to Grossman due to a collapsing pocket, or fumbling the ball. Not to forget you lose yards which the Bears struggle on anything that's more than 10 yards for a first down. You act as if every time Grossman throws it up the other team is getting interceptions.

Would you be confident in your receiving core outside of Mushin Muhammed who has been having problems running routes this year, but has proved that he can at least come down with a catch? Yes Bernard Berrian has made some catches that were thrown above his head, but not many. Devon Hester shouldn't even by a receiver they just send him on the fly and he normally lines up wrong. The only receivers I have been impressed with this year is Greg Olsen and Des Clark. Grossman doesn't always throw interceptions it's when the play calls go for the deep ball to Berrian or Hester that he gets picked off otherwise he hasn't struggled with short passes that go under the defense. The only receiver I have seen Grossman able to hit on a deep ball is Mark Bradley because Mark Bradley for some reason was coming down with the ball making plays.

Brett Favre works as Grossman and Favre are very identical in QB styles both are pocket QBs that have cannons. The difference is Favre HAS receivers in Donald Driver and Greg Jennings, a running game that is working at the moment, and a young (exclude Al Harris and Charles Woodson) good defense.

Did you not watch Brian Griese do the same things Grossman did in the time Griese got to start? Griese made throws right to defenders. Of course Grossman would make some bad decisions on inexperience because he has spent time hurt until 2006 then was benched this year when it was apparent that no matter who the Bears put in it wouldn't matter.

Drafting and trading for a line, receivers, and a better secondary is ideal over the QB position first at the moment. I highly doubt this will happen though even with free agent market. The Bears are playing for a top 10 draft pick right now as the Dolphins, Rams, Raiders, Chiefs, Ravens, Jets, and Falcons have up to the 7th pick sealed up nicely. The Bears can get the 8th pick if they just go fuck it and lose the rest of these games and hope the Bengals win one more game to guarantee that #8 and hope to trade up using other draft round picks to move up to 5 or 6 in the first round.

Edit: Forgot the 49ers so the Bears can get the 9th pick.

Actually the Pats are looking at the #5 draft pick in this years draft :) They have the 49ers pick, and they Niners are in line for the #4 or 5 pick this year.

and no, I may come off as sounding like that, but I'm not so ignorant as to think every time he throws it up, it's picked, but it does happen with him a lot more than you would like. Granted this is due to factors OTHER than himself, as well as himself. However, taking a sack IS favorable over throwing a pick. That's why sometimes it is wise to take a sack.

I didn't say sometimes it's not wise to take a sack, but in Grossman's case he tends to get injured when he gets sacked.

Yeah I remembered the 49ers having a bad record after I posted.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

(wait for it... wait for it...)

Bears!

No we should be angry about this win as the Bengals won we could have easily wrapped up the 9th spot in the first round of the draft. IDC if it's the Pack or not god damn if you're going to play for something at this point play for a draft pick.

Shut up Romper, we swept the Packers on Favre's "AWESOME FUCKING AMAZING RECORD BREAKING" season. Its a reason to be happy. So buck up man and quit being such a debbie downer ; ;.
