The situation was this:
I was pld, lvl 12. Party was 10-12. We're fighting and things are going poorly. I run out of MP from healing myself. That isn't hard to do as an Elvaan pld, in fact I try to run out of mp almost every battle. It's my job to keep hate etc, etc. ANYWAY, things are going poorly. Pande has maybe 1/3-almost 1/2 of his mp and I'm in the red. I activate Invincible. Rather than heal me, he heals everyone else figuring "well he's safe, he's invincible". After 30 seconds, and no heals, I take 1 or 2 shots more and I die. I couldn't blame him if he had no mp. The thing was he DID have plenty, at least enough to keep me alive. The party DID win the fight. After I died, it was only 3 or 4 more attacks. I know he was a new player, and new players make mistakes. That wasn't the problem. If you're in the dunes, you have to expect death. The problem was his constant, and annoying, bragging about how cool/good he was.
Incidentally, I didn't make him the 5th person on my Blist until a few days later when he wouldn't stop /shouting in the dunes. I generally resent people who get touchy over "shouts" because it isn't as if someone is actually shouting next to you. People know its a "shout" and confuse it with real shouting because they take the roleplaying aspect to seriously, but this guy was too much. I saw him the other day, and he has been levelling his sub, so I don't have any job in his lvl range right now, so hopefully I wont even be in a hypothetical situation where we might poissibly play together.
Speaking of asses, where has Xcalade gone too?
