Personally, I love helping people. Ask me for any knowledge or reasonable favor I can do for you, and I'll be glad to. However, my personal pet peeve is people who ask for help, yet refuse to try to find out on their own. Before you ask for help, you should at least put in your own effort into finding the answer/getting what you need.

Case in point: Samemamajimi (I think that's how you spell his name)
I was in West Ronfaure, at Knightwell, doing the new goldfish scooping miniquest for Summerfest. Samemamajimi(from now on abbreviated as Same) came in and instantly shouting "How do you goldfish scoop?" Arggh. All he had to do was talk the one NPC there, that every was crowding around(maybe a clue as to its importance), and the NPC would have *completely* explained it all. So I didn't respond. Then Same shouts again. And again. So finally I use /tell with him to tell him to ask the NPC. He gets mad at me and says I was just hoping someone was nice enough to help me. Nice enough to help you? So they should put out effort to explain to you something when you haven't put out any effort to learn it? I told him that if he wasn't going to try to learn it himself, that I doubt anyone would want to help him. He then proceeded to use say/shout to insult me and call me a liar and an asshole and stupid and gay and immature and bad at social relations and a loser and a newbie and I think that's the list. Then, I respond to him via _tells_, as I doubt anyone else wanted to hear him rage on like a little kid. He then continues to respond to me over say, and at this point gets a friend to come and also harass me. I ask him to keep it in tells as no one else wants to hear it, and he calls me something to the effect of a coward for not wanting everyone else to hear it. I finally just /tell him to shut up, and he says you first, so I do, even though he was the one harassing me. A few minutes go by and he /tells me again, and when I respond, he shouts that if I ever contact him again, he will report me to a GM for harassment. In the meanwhile, he's finally figured out how to goldfish scoop(big task there), and seems to want to report every 5 seconds as to exactly what is happening in his miniquest.

Long story short, if you see Samemamajimi anywhere, ignore him.

The first thing I do, and always assumed others did, when I start an RPG or an Mmorpg is speak to every NPC possible. It's a good way to learn the lay of the city/land and often times learn the game basics. Obviously I was wrong. Just brush it off and realize that for every idiot there are multiple good players. It's just easier to notice the bad ones.

Good journeys.
