So, my Assault static has done Blitzkrieg a few times now. There is supposed to be a NM that drops a Blackscale key that allows you to unlock the NPC and continue to fight more mobs. Last time, we never saw the NM and no one had a key after killing 200 of the weak mobs. We had no choice but to use the rune of release and just leave with fewer points awarded.

The question: Is there something more we need to do to be assured of getting the NM? Do we need to press through the mass of advancing mobs to get it? Does it despawn if we kill the 200 before killing it?

If anyone has the answer, I'd certainly appreciate a reply. It's a fun mission and I hope to farm it for points. But if we only get 500 points for a partial win, it's just not worth it.

We tried this one 4 times, spawned the NM the one time we ONLY killed Mamool, and had the RDM phalanx/stoneskin tank the mass of other things.
After 20-25 dead mamools, we got Bluethunder Kaqool Ja to spawn.

We were stumped as to how to pop the wyvern though.

yea ive done it twice and never been able to pop the NM

Follow up on this: I kow Uzor had a thread relating to this assault some time ago, asking the same question. If I remember correctly, he did find a satisfactory answer. Maybe ask him.

You have to fight mainly Mamool to get it to pop. Ignore the other monsters.

You have to sing Blitzkrieg bop song when you kill monsters to pop the NM

o . o;

We did some snooping as suggested, and it seems that we need to focus on killing the Mamool Ja. Although you need to kill 200 mobs to finish the first wave, not all 200 are spawned at once. Killing Mamool spawns more Mamool, and give a chance that the NM will pop instead of a normal Mamool...

At least, that's what is supposed to happen. We'll try it this weekend.

Thanks.

Kaqool Ja supposedly pops if 30[possibly less?]~50 MamuJa are killed before the 175(150?) mark, the Festival Firedrake supposedly pops if you rescue the NPC and get them to the Rune [may require you to do this before you kill a certain amount more of the mobs, may also require an amount of MamuJa kills. Sleepga helps a ton here since random pops like to prioritize attacking the NPC.]

Still trying to figure this out.

Why bother with such a silly mission for farming points? Aren't there easier alternatives? :|

Our group prefers killing stuff to figuring out puzzles, which severely limits our choices in Mammol Ja assaults. We've won every assault in this area up until SM rank, and the only two that everyone enjoyed were Blitzkrieg and Preemptive Strike; let me tell you after running that PFC mission about 20 times you get pretty damn sick of it. Hence why we were hoping to get more points out of Blitzkrieg. I'm about 15k away from my MC Hammer pants. ;_;

MY Assault static were actually the first group that managed to pop him <.< I asked around everywhere, including BG, what he was for, but no one knew since they had never seen him. Either way, turned out that the key he drops is used to open the gate which is then used to spawn a NPC that you need to protect.

And yes, he's popped by killing enough Mamools. If you're in a group of 4 melees, have 3 people killing Mamools with the last person killing the other adds (as to not make yourself overwhelmed by them). When the NM pops, kill him. Then bring the key to the NPC and let him out, at which point, if I remember right, another 100 mobs will appear. If you have a BLU, this mission is extremely easy, so have the BLU taking care of the other adds in that case.

In all honesty though, I wouldn't recommend this mission for AP farming. At SM rank, Breaking Morale and Defuse The Threat are much easier and faster, and gives about the same amount of AP. Hell, in Breaking Morale, you can solo 6-7 out of the 8 chests, and with 3 people it gives 1333 AP, which isn't bad for 15 min of work.
