Can this be done with 3 members? I'm not a fan of large assault groups.

I'm thinking PLD mage mage. The PLD tanks the mamool ja with an earth staff, and the mages heal him until the enemy throws his junk at the door.

Only problem is, what to do with the mamool once he loses his weapon? I'm thinking sleep/bind -> log off -> depop.

Would this work? I've never done this one, but I want my P Pants.
 
Cythe(PLD), Jescer(RDM) and I(MNK) used to trio this all the time until they got their yigit from the zone. If the weapon misses, kill it. Firespit can take down the door too, but it takes multiple hits, 5 if I remember correctly. There's no reason to log out and it might get you kicked out of the assault, since if everyone is logged out or dead, it kicks you out in 3 minutes.
 
Oh cool, I'm MNK too. I'll just grab a RDM...I figured they were tougher than that.

Try doing all the PSC assaults (and spam other ones if you find one you just can't win; Periqia's kinda annoying) to rank up to PFC at least. Then spam *that* (Preemptive Strike) for Mamool Ja points. It's so much more reliable *and* more fun *and* less annoying than Imperial Agent Rescue, it's not even funny.

As a general rule, you're better off ranking up first with variety, and spamming new assaults later. Each time you do a new assault you haven't done before (which is a bigger help for ranking up than repeating an old one), you *also* get 150% of the usual points for beating it. So in the process of going around for variety and ranking up, you get a fairly sizeable pile of points in all five areas, *and* you rank up which lets you get to the more spammable assaults at higher ranks.

Looking back on them, the PSC assaults are all rather painful to think about - very time-consuming and/or luck-based. The sooner you can get to a higher rank, the better off you are in the long run, even if it's slightly delayed gratification on one particular 20k assault point item.
 
I got PFC by spamming Golden Salvage on BST.

Can I 3-man Preemptive Strike with a PLD?
 
You'd be a bit better off with a mini-TP-burn setup, so with a PLD you may want to consider 4-manning it.

The penalty for bringing more than 3 people to assaults isn't really all that significant. 3 people = 100% points, 4 people = 90%, 5 people = 80%, 6 people = 70%. (It used to be 100%, 75%, 60%, 50% respectively.) Better to get a little less points but reliably win the assault. Not all assaults are trioable, and those that are, aren't necessarily trioable by all jobs.
 
For imperial agent have a rdm spam stone 1. The monsters will use Firespit more often. As for the PFC. 3 people can do it easy. 1 mage 2 dd easy. Just don't aggro the puks.

BST is awesome for Pre-emptive Strike. Those puks make nice charmed pets due to their attack speed. Plus Obfuscate is always handy when used on mobs.
 
Yes, it can be won. The party was me (rdm), exsoldier (nin) and lordgama(nin). Had to get 2 gates open to find the agent. We each recieve 1100 assault points.
 
Hehe, Jojojo, if you need a RDM to help spam those cures, we can do the assault like we did Excavation Duty ^^ hit me up ingame.
