I'm trying to do the new missions and I just now started and I would like to know where the closes staging point is for the 1st mission, from Al Zahbi.

Halvung, if you use escape in that little cave thingy
Azouph Island is the absolute closest from town. Exit Nashmau from the east gate, and just keep hugging east. You'll have to go north, and then south. You'll have to avoid Heraldic Imps(VT, True sight) But other than thatm it's cake and a very short distance from Nashmau.
