Astral Ring 1,500,000G.... Will it keep rising the Price?

Ok, this is getting weirder and weirder, few days ago I check Astral Ring price, and the price was around 1.5mil-1.7mil, I think this is getting stupid, I don't mind the price jump from 200k to 800k then to 800k to 1mil, but 1.5mil... come on, 2 ring = 3mil+ aready, I believe is overpriced and Astral Ring is not that hard to get..

haha, I brought one of the ring for 200k before they update the AH tax %, I'm talking about in general, some people who want that ring now can't afford it because of the demands

Well, a level ten on their first job isn't going to have the original 200k in the first place. It's a level 20 BC now. Beastmen Seals are common as dirt. They could get some friends and do the BC. At level 20. So you figure, get your subjob quest done, plus 2 more levels, and 10 levels on a subjob. SUCH HARD WORK THERE, BOSS.

Far better solution than the old alternative of Oztroja Coffers if they didn't want to pay the gil. It was for the better, it's not Square's fault the players have no ambition to earn their gear.

This is really what it comes down to, you can buy it, or you can get it yourself. The law of supply and demand doesn't apply in FFXI much. The real world is based on cash flow, not so FFXI. If I don't need cash right now, and I have a ring stitting around, I can put it up for 10M and just wait till someone buys it. If it doesn't sell, so what, I put it back up for 10M.

I am just saying, if you don't like the price, don't buy the item. It's irrelevant what others are willing to pay for an item. What's relevant is what is a particular item worth to you. If something sold for 2M the last 20 times, that doesn't mean you would be willing to spend 2M on it, it only means others were.

I already have 2 Astral Ring for 200k long time ago, I just don't like this kind of inflation. People farm hard to get their items and 1week of farming, the price had jumps and that person still can't afforded and cost them to farm more.

Well, SH, Hauby, V.Cloak, Rings, and cape/mantle, had go up 2x-9x, Let see how sucks it'll be if your middle class wealth person in FFXI

That kind of inflation is natural to most every mmo.
Game currency enters the game economy at a much higher rate than quality items do. In addition in FFXI some quality items are obtained from content that is not all that popular anymore, further reducing the rate at which those quality items enter the market.

Furthermore those who are in the end game have ample access to game currenty. Meaning, if you are a high level, then you simply may have plenty of gil to spare to buy quality items for your twink, while those who actually need the item for their main are getting the shaft.

It's just a reality of MMOs. I believe we even had a discussion about this when the board first started, and the popular opinon at the time was that the itemization of FFXI is one of the major weak spots of the game. Between everyone looking the same, between some items that are considered "must have, or you suck", and between those items being tradable, SE created the situation you are seeing today.

Not to mention Astral Ring, for its level, is an immensely powerful item. It was made common as hell by Thieves back when they were coffer items. It was just bad design. The new way is fine, quit your bitching. If people want it, they can still get it by doing the BCNM. It's not difficult, it's just that for some reason, people lack the drive to do it.

Actually, no if your end game doesn't mean your will be rich.
You still need to spend countless hours to get sky points, and once you have amount of points, you can use your point for your needs, but also gonna need to get drops from the mob, it could be 1/10 of drops or 1/100
I know some high leveler is poorer then a lv.30 newbies.

One thing I think is sortof overlooked...
The BCs they drop from drop...generally crap, minus maybe one or two things, and at a pretty crappy rate. Compared to BC30 (gives a shot at Magician, Genin, Erase(?), and other stuff easily hitting 800k+ if you rig the drops) or BC40 (Erase, Survival Belt, Ni, Phalanx) drop rates, you're sortof in for a loss if you keep going for the BC20s...and if you wanna actually get the rings, you're STILL better off going with the BC40s and such since you can get the gil to buy the rings and thensome.

If the drop rate was improved, the price would probably drop real quick (they really needto do this with VClaw.. ;.; )
But until then, it's just gonna keep going up =\ That, or, people who don't totally need it can sell em. I never really saw a good use in Astrals beyond BSTs, BRDs, and Galka in general..

And thats why a point system vs. attendance/effort records is a baaaaaaaaaaaaad thing. You're being slaved for free essentially, with the occasional reward.

I think more people buy gil at lvl 75 than any other level to make up for the fact they level whored thier way to 75 with a popular job and now see what a real 75XXX looks like, then they look at thier gimped to shit gear and hit up IGE.

take your fucking time and level your job with your bankroll at the same time you dumb fucks.

Buying your ring IS earning it, and maybe more so than doing the BC since it costs so damn much now. Considering you earned the moey to buy it...So long as you didn't RMT.

Still, you have the two options, and if the price tag is too much for ya, the BC is there for you. And as Skaw mentioned, is readily available for any level 20 with 20 seals.

I originally bought an astral for 130k a year and a half ago. Gave that away.

Next time I touched one, was after the bcnm 20. it is ridiculously easy if you have 2 bsts even. Porum and I were beating that bcnm in 4 minutes. However, the drop rate wasn't that consistent and we got 3 astrals over a LOT of runs....defintiely wasn't a 25% drop for us.

But why would you expect the price to stop going up? Everything else in the game does. Vermillion is up to 9mil. So is SH. Slowly but surely, the only direction seems to be up.
