At around what level monster do kindred seals start to drop?

Hiya ~ I've been wondering, at about what level does Kindred Seals start to drop off monsters (and which monsters?)? I haven't done any partying for a long time so I'm not sure when they start to drop, although I do know they drop in Bibiki Bay for me as a RDM ^^;

This way I can plan out my soloing in order to maximise my Kindred Seal farming potential so I can get as many as I can during soloing. Thank you! =)

Yep, about level 50. They only drop from the 70ish level mobs in Bibiki Bay, not the 40ish ones...

The first place I can remember seeing them was in Crawler's Nest. No idea about the level or if I remember right for that matter.

I've been told it was Lv50+ mobs. I don't doubt it. It just sucks because I have a really really hard time getting seals and stuff because soloing as a Taru WHM is crap. And I don't want to spend time and money getting a whole new job started just so I can get some seals.

Hmm, now that you mention it, yeh, I've had it dropped in there before. I guess I should go around and attempt to solo there ...

they drop in crawlers nest, just got 3 drops from exories and nest beetles while lvling NPC...

I don't remember the flies dropping KS, but i remember soldiers dropping cause the first time i saw a seal drop it surprised me. Soldiers in the nest are 47-49, hornflies 50-53, exoray 51-54, and blazer beetles 52-54. So it starts at 50 sharp mob lvl.


Remember for seals and crystals mob must con at least easy prey.

Me and Zimzum would duo in Western Altep Desert, and we were arround lvl 43-47, and i defentely got K-Seals there.

So my guess is arround 44.

Dejan, it's not based on character level, ITs are like 7-10 lvls above your own. which still knocks em to 50+. Lvl 50+ MOBS not characters will drop seals.

first off most ks fight you need to be atleast 65-70 or higher and you really dont need to farm them considering they drop pretty easy off most mobs. Like flame said it the mob lvl you thinking of the prespective of you lvl when you got the seal but you have to remeber you fighting mobs between 2-8 lvls higher then you. 50 is the number no less.

WHM will have a hard time soloing until higher levels, then you can take EP fairly easily if you have decent gear and hexa strike. It helps a lot tho if you kill skeles for the added attack on them, but you can kill other EP mobs. Also, if you plan on killing tougher mobs, sub ninja(best if you are 74+ for Uts:Ni) and get a lots of evasion gear. I also suppose if you leveled your NPC, it would help enormously to solo.

To answer the OP, I started getting KS in Crawler's Nest on level 45 experience mobs which I believe are Hornflies and beetles. Not sure if soldier crawlers drop them tho. And you might want to hold off on soloing mobs to farm for KS. By the time you get to 75, when you really should be using the seals, you should have approximately 80-100 without farming mobs for them. That's a about 3 KS30 runs or a single KS99.

If you're looking for kindred seals, a fun way to get them is to start a skillup party. If it's ok with everyone else that you get the seals while healing them, I'm sure you'll find some willing participants.

Although you will get some of the seals in the skill up party as they drop randomly and it is a good idea if you want some, that doesn't necessarily mean they will let you take them. All it takes is a couple of people saying no, like a tank or refresher and you are out of a party.

And to the OP again, I am wondering as to, why do you want to farm KS? Getting KS is a slow process even for a party. I get about 2 KS every time I join an EXP party, skill up party, farm or kill EP mobs. I get about 2 every 2 hours approximately at the rate mobs are killed. Given you need 30 seals to do a KS30 run and if you are looking to make money from it, say do Desert Storm with a BLM cannon party for a V.Claw(about 1/6 drop), that's about 180 KS needed per claw. At that rate, it's better to farm normal drop mobs and get gil for a claw than to farm KS for a V.Claw and hope for a claw through KS30. This is not meant to discourage you, but to actually help you. If you want to make the most of it then kill EP mobs for both farming and the KS you require. I especially urge you to farm seals if you plan on getting items that are very rare like the Kreigsbeil. Items like those are so rare, only a determined person farming for them will obtain it.

As mentioned in the Event Schedule board/Good times board, Hronorigger and his/her BLM crew has done a lot of runs for people. Me, only having 38 seals that time, I took 30 out for a L.orb. After doing it I was rather pleased and even though I didn't get the claw, I liked the variety of items dropped. Since I don't have time for an EXP party for a period of time due to a lot of work, I was hoping to find a way to get them myself without having to party ^^;

But, I like to gamble on stuff like this ... so I'm hoping to find/get 22 more seals for the next run ^^
