ati2dvad display driver error

I am using an ati radeon 9700 laptop vgn s360 - getting driver error - ati2 dvad display driver error - causing ffxi to close and screen goes to basic colour format.

Is anyone else getting this error? Any solutions to this?

I have also placed this comment on allakhazam.com in anticipation someone who has experienced this may have a solution.

I'd try either installing the newest driver at ATI.com, or if you've recently installed a new driver, roll back.

Thanks for the reply. Ive tried heaps of ideas, one being the update of the driver... and reinstalling the harddrive, new harddrive,.. the only thing i havent tried is throwing the laptop back at Sony. :shock:
