Feedback Auction House Replies

Hello,

I've recently noticed that I can't post replies in any posts on this forum. I have found two other posts related to this, and see that this is intentional... but with no way to know except by searching out 1yr+ old posts, I had no idea if this was a site error or what. Could a sticky post or something for any thread with special restrictions such as this be made? You guys do a great job with this on other forums (such as special rules, etc).

It was done intentionally to prevent uninvolved parties from contributing to OP's bids/posts.

Example:
OP: WTS: Shining Cloth 20M
Reply: WTF! Thats insanely overpriced.

While the reply may be extremely true, it was unnecessary because:
a. No one is going to buy it
b. The OP would complain causings mods undue grief
c. Negotiations can and should be done via PM

Killing replies solved most of the problems. Now we just have to deal with the occasional misplaced OP quips.

Also allowed people to basically undercut and get a freeride in other people's AH topics.

Example: WTS: Shining Cloth 20M
Reply #1: Our ls sells for 17M
Reply #2: Ours will do 15M

etc.

If people want to offer a better deal, they need to make and maintain their own topic.

I thought there was an announcement regarding this in the Feedback area; but I could be wrong.

basically the two posts I cited was all the discussion the search feature did. Nothing in faq portion, and the only concrete answers are over a year old, and took a search to find. That's why with the other forums having basic rules explained, I though it would be nice to have it noted in its forum.

Where though? It's not anywhere I can find other than those posts. So the information is out there, yes. But I can't find any reference to the Auction House or the fact that you can't reply in a place that doesn't require you to search.

Not in the General forum rules
Not in the Auction House forum

Is in a 1year+ old discussion that without this post to verify their validity, gives no indications that it is still the policy.

Now, I could be wrong and if you can link me to some place... ok then, we all move on happily.

Anyhow, I've little to no doubt Arct or someone will throw something up when they get a little time. I just posted so that we can save people from going through all this to find out the status of rules, especially when its not noted in the forum it affects.

Yes. Just a warning for people not aware of this first venturing to buy something can see why without pestering you guys. It can be as simple as to say "Replies may only be made by the Original Poster to amend or bump their sale. Inquiries or Discussions should be handled in PMs or in-game."

Edit: feel free to copy/paste that quote or put it up in any way you'd like, if that's what you choose to do ^^;
