After seeing this post:

http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi/showthread.php?t=49907

I would like to reply/response to that.

The reason why we're all editing our threads as of now is because we cannot move our topics to the completed section. I've moved several of my own before and have done so via the method mentioned there, but however when I went to my own thread where I had something to sell to see if I can move it, the option isn't there at all. Otherwise it is something I (and many others too I believe) will normally do to help keep that forum tidy.

Please check it. It might be just me, but a few other threads with their deals sealed the originating author just had to edit it.

someone pm'd me they had an issue. taking it up with the admins now. no one notified us this hadn't worked, so we didn't know.

Ok cool that's fine, I was going to PM, but was thinking there might be several PMs going on around already. Never thought that no one reported it, so ...

EDIT: Works fine now.

Just a bump, i wanted to reply to an AH thread, and it says that i don't have permission.

we were talking about moving completed transactions, not posting on it. i'm not sure what permissions they have set in place for posting, though, since i can post anywhere.

cmdr might can say.

Nobody can post to someone else's thread in the AH board. You can reply to your own thread and that's it.

This is the way it was supposed to be waaaay back before we shifted to VBulletin. Somewhere along the lines the permissions got boned so I fixed them.

Is that going to include mods this time? They technically CAN post there, but can we have them not arbitrarily bump friends' topics or post random things that are irrelevant like "better" prices and stuff?

i believe what you're referring to is something that has happened very few times and relatively insignificant to talk about.

That's something that can be done but isn't currently in place by my choosing.

Mods are the only ones who might need to reply to a thread to say simple stuff like "you need to include a price" or whatever. Could also be done by PM but a bump for the change (so everyone else can see the new updated post) does no harm.

I'll leave it open to discussion by all here. From an administrative standpoint, looking at my job for example, I have unsolicited access to all resources in my office and generally this is a good way to keep things.

What we could do is, if you feel a mod/admin has posted to a thread wrongly, report it and we may delete.

a) we can change the setting so threads are sorted by the original post date (ie: posting to the thread wont "bump" it to the top).

b) I guess I never really understand why comments weren't allowed. I think I'd like to see comments (so long as they are not arguements about prices and such) but thats really your call.

"so long as they are not arguements about prices and such"

thats why the ability to comment was removed

I would like to comment. It's easier to discuss through a thread rather than PMs.

Make a rule about it? Although I can see it getting a bit out of hand as it will eventually happen.

I don't mind deleting posts that discuss price. It will happen if we allow it.

As long as it is set to sort by OP, it shouldn't be a problem. Instead of getting a lot of bumps we'll get a lot more topics lol.

I concur with allowing posts in the AH section, as well as deleting or editing idiotic posts arguing prices and such. So long as the threads stick to negotiations between the OP and prospected buyer/seller, it should be allowed. It was like that way back, and it worked well.

If the user says Non-negotiable, then any posts discussing price will be deleted via the report post button. However, if the OP doesn't list guidelines - we could just leave it alone. I dunno, any ideas people?
