This is a rather awkward question but I'm hoping someone can answer it.

I'm using firefox 3.0, and I can't seem to figure out how to clear the cache of my autocompleted pages when typing in a web url. I could do it easily in 2.0, but it's really starting to add up and I like to clear it every month or so just to clean up the browser.

if this wasn't explanatory enough for you, this is what I mean:

I've tried clearing my history, my cookies, bookmarks, cache, everything, and nothing seems to work.

I don't think you can. When I first installed Firefox 3.0, I had websites in that list that I'd never been to before. I think that it's supposed to be tyring to figure out what website you're going to based on the url you're tying in and where you've gone before.

You do realize it also auto compiles what you have in bookmarks right? So if you have qcdn as a bookmark and start typing it in it will pop up. As far as I know clearing the browsing history will still get ride of all the searched websites you typed in.

If I hit "Clear Private Data" the only websites that get listed there are bookmarks.

QCDN isn't bookmarked.

This is really annoying though, I might go back to 2.0

Hover your mouse over it, hold shift key + delete.

If it doesnt go away its inside your bookmark folder in some capacity.

Unclick the golden star.

edit: when you're on the qcdn mainpage, click the golden star, then hit remove bookmark, should fix it.

Saved form and search history doesn't clear it out? When I ditch that, only my bookmarks show up.

I think it also caches the ones on your bookmarks toolbar, if it is there.

Disabling Autocomplete - Firefox Try this, specifically this step.

After performing the steps in my second link, restart firefox. All that autocomplete crap is gone.

Personally, I like it but that'll get rid of it for you.

When clearing private data, I also cleared Offline Website Data as well.

My results are the same. All other websites that are not bookmarked disappeared.
