Going of they started on ice day and finished on ice day wouldn't that make the video about 7 hours?

there were invincibles, chainspells and a bloodweapon thrown in there too i believe

They'll never give you exact details, just enough to show you it can be done and possibly how to lock two hours from use. I believe SE even said as much when they were asked about it.
 
Can AV even be slept? They were casting sleep on it a lot...not sure why they were doing that since I'm sure it can't be slept. Not sure if that means anything but I was surprised by it.

I could be very wrong, but maybe it was the RDM tank trying to build hate? I believe they were tanking it with RDM.

Could be, I only watched it once so I didn't notice too many of the details lol.
 
Yes, they were building hate on their RDMs. The tanks I noticed were: two PLDs and two RDMs.

It seems as if everyone who has their two hour available should use it. I counted over eight go off when AV used Soul Voice.

If that fight really did go around the clock, ouch.

Ok, I went through about 5-6 pages of the AV Video thread on BG and saw lotsa "theories" and watched the video alot. And something popped into my head. Alot ppl on BG on theorizing you have to match his 2HR with one in your PT. Which sounds plausible. But during some of the 2 hours AV uses you see multiple 2HR's firing off.
Obviously the development team is getting their 2HR's restored somehow. Because the same people are using their 2 HR's constantly.
What if matching AV's 2HR and locking is your alliance recieves a bonus that restores all your 2 HR's. Well, that would explain why everyone is spamming their 2 HR with the person meant to be using it to lock AV's 2HR. I mean, if your going to get it restored, why not use it multiple times if you have access to it multiple times. PLD w/ multiple Invincible would help, As well BRD with numerous Soul Voice, etc.
So perhaps only 1 person per 2HR usage is spamming it to lock the 2 HR. Maybe the others are just using theirs to gain the 2 HR effect since they know it's going to get reset anyway.
Just a theory that popped into my head.

I don't think that matching his 2hr with your own would restore your 2hr. I think that the fight was just long enough that people had them restored from time. It's really hard to tell with a 4 min video though. They might have been using Staves aswell for the extra elemental bonus.
 
I noticed they were casting ALL tiers of thunder and blizzard spells, I and IV most often. Probably has something to do with spells based on the day and whatnot.
 
Well, Another thought popped into popped into my head 5 minutes after I posted that. That seems a bit more logical. Suppose using a 2HR to lock his 2 HR resets only 2 HR's that have been previously locked. That would explain why only about 1-3 2HR's went of near the beginning of the fight. But towards the middle you see like 6-7 2 HR's go off.
Your jobs 2HR only gets restored if it's locking AV's 2HR or has previously locked it.

Yeah it seems that 2hring cancels AV's 2hr that he used, and it looks like when AV does another 2HR, your's are reset, so you can use it a multiple of times. I think you have to be meleeing though for it to reset, there was a RDM ELV meleeing with staff. :S

This is for breaking AVs regen according to most consensus on BG and SE's own statements.

He was a tank.^^; I also don't think AV resets player's two hours. The fight itself looked to be over 7 hours, if it really did go around the Vana'diel clock.
