Intelligence? On the flameboard? Surely you jest, lol. Look at the first page. 2/3 of the topics are joke topics. I'm trying to show through extreme overexaggeration that just telling people who don't like it to turn off ALL avatars is a silly way of solving a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place. Considering the breast sizes in everyone's avatars, I figured extreme overexaggeration was the way to go.

Well, the thing is, if a few people say they can't handle the avatars because they view from work... It really is the simplest answer to tell them to filter avatars. Avatars are hardly an integral part of the website, whereas images as a whole, ARE. Ya'know?

The thread derails need to be stopped. how many threads end up with talking about how gay they are, or how last night they did this or that to each other.

It's funny at times, but it spills into every thread, just like the porn pics did.

Every thread is an issue... but I'd much rather read about Westyle boning Cmdrfly than "OMG THIS HO STOLE MY BF"

In a work setting, just turn them off. Its not hard, its not inconvieniencing anyone because signatures and usernames are still displayed so you can identify who the poster is, and you can re-enable them when you get home where no one is likely to FIRE you for accidentaly looking at them. When the tools are in your hands to do somthing to prevent it, do it. Its a simple fix to advoid trouble at work.

I believe the mods BECAME involved because people were asking them how to turn off avatars? in fact, i'm pretty sure at least 2 of them put something to that extent in writing.

Technically you've got me there due to a typo and failure to proof read on my part. I meant to say this video game, not video games in general. My apologies.
 
No doubt, if I were one who viewed qcdn at work and I thought my job was on the line I would've turned them off long ago (I wasn't aware coming into this topic the ability to filter avatars wasn't common knowledge). But the "turn off avatars" vs Alyada's solution feels too much like what everyone complains here about when GMs do it to them. "We'll look into it. In the meantime, just ignore him". At least the mods are TRYING. :/
