Kay. You must be 13+ to register on QCDN, or have your parents register for you. None of the avatars had nudity, thus aren't any worse than cable T.V.

On hiding avatars; IT`S FOR PEOPLE AT WORK, NOT FOR PEOPLE AT HOME!
If you can't handle some bikinis, I hope you don't watch T.V

Edit: Artem beat me, I need a keyboard for my PS3

you still win this thread with the picture though

It wasn't the women in bikini's (allthough it's getting really old) it was the freakin chicks holding their nipples and the ones pushing their boobs against eachother, but were otherwise naked.

I think you people like to bitch just to bitch, this shouldn't of been such a huge problem but now that everyone seems to of got their way they're never satisfied and seem to want to push the boundries more and more. People are saying that the ones that don't like it are the whiners when I've heard more whining from the other side in this thread. It's like a "Har har looks what I can do to try and piss everyone off"

The only people that were even bitching about it haven't posted in this thread for quite a while. Yes, the one's you're talking about were not inappropriate, but damn... nobody even brought this up before it was a fad. There's been plenty of people to have somewhat suggestive pictures as avatars or signatures, and if you say there hasn't been in the past you might want to think harder. I lurk more than I post, and yes, some of the pictures were indeed bad, but for those that weren't...? Punish all because a few select chose to use something much more inappropriate.

To be honest I think the whole thing got blown out of proportion because of a few select people that the mods just happened to side with. It just went further downhill when some people tried to defend their (and other people's) actions. I don't use such an avatar or signature, but damn... why do you people even care that there is a girl in a bikini? Nipples and squeezing tits together - sure, you've made your case and I, along with other people agree. I would be willing to bet all of my current money and gil on had I chose to have a half-naked mithra as an avatar/sig or if I were actually a "woman" with a suggestive avatar nobody would have even said a thing.

and that was all of one avatar that you could have kindly asked the person to change. I'm sure they would have. That doesn't make all the other 20 bikini avatars (yeah I know it's old, that's not the point) guilty. The reason people said this is turning into Sculli land all over, because one person's avatar created a rule that removed anything that is remotely on the borderline. Personally I don't care what avatars are of, the point is that people bitch enough until the mods go overboard and restrict everything, even though if they wanted to, they could have take action and fixed it without a 10 page flameboard discussion

If it had only been the one avatar, someone might've just approached the person. It was the sudden flood of 10+ people all posting the swimsuit or less avatars that changed it from a single occurance to a more global one. I think the point was that if people kept trying to show more and more, instead of 1 or 2 really bad ones, you'd have 10-20 really bad ones. So people asked for some kind of overall ruling rather than a singular one. At least, that's what I'm gathering from reading the topics about it.

This is what usually tends to happen on message boards. A "fad" gets started and it grows and grows until you remove the root of it or until it gets blown so out of proportion that it just gets lame. So this was more of a remove the root approach. Now that guidelines are being discussed and there's the possibility of an NSFW board, I don't really see what point carrying on this discussion really had other than to be a name-calling circle-jerk. But feel free to continue if you want!

Cmd, Wes, Sano, all had them for ages now.

I don't know if you've noticed things on qcdn tend to go katamari on our asses. Something starts small (ie Cm's old avy's) and tends to collect until it gets out of control (ie 50 foot dick pics and nude chicks in avatars). It's not only a topic on avatars it's a topic on what's acceptable on a site about VIDEO GAMES. Seriously, I don't mind when shit that's NSFW ends up on the FB with a warning but when I'm browsing topics on crafting and I run into this stuff with no warning it's unacceptable. It's like everyones 14 again and wanting to wear t-shirts that say "Fuck" on them just to piss other people off and see how far they can go with it. Most adults don't need to push their boundries in such crude immature ways. ZOMG TITTIES! Seriously. When 2, or 3 or even 10 people are making it an issue to browse the site for the 100s of other members it should be brought up and discussed. You can bitch and moan that your 'rights' on a video game forum are being violated when you're asked to keep images within perfectly acceptable not too strict parameters and everyone flips out.

I think restricting bikini pictures is too strict parameters. No one said anyone's rights are violated. There's no right on a free private message board. The point is, as far as I can see people argueing for this side have agreed that the porn pictures are right to be removed, but this side does not believe the bikini avatars should be removed b/c they are not porn. A lot of people had them before, and now they can't because one or two people had a porn picture (which was rightfully removed). I think that's where you are missing the point. This side just doesn't want all of them banned, only the actual porn ones. No one said that extended penis was appropriate or anything like that. Once again to reiterate, bikinis are not porn, they are not age restricted (well I get 13y.o. by tv's standards).

Also I think it's funny how so many people bitch about bikinis, but this doesn't bother them. I mean if you were offended by those avatars, did you report this to the mods? Yeah, I know, it's because it's clearly a joke and isn't taken that seriously, just like the bikini avatars aren't meant to be set there drooling over.

I wasn't aware that anyone was arguing against the bikini avatars, other than stating that they got "old" and "annoying". It was the softcore porn ones with bare breasts or gigantor nipples poking through the tops that were the cause of action. In fact, most of the people who have posted in this topic said exactly that, that the bikini avatars, while stale, weren't a problem.

I must've missed the nude avatars while not at my computer during the course of about two hours unless it just happened to be one or two people. I did see a few pictures of girls with tight enough bikinis to where you could see their nipples, if that's what the big deal is. In that case give them a warning and slap them on the wrist because although it's not exactly horrible it is a little inappropriate.

Hint: Ban those couple of people that had nude avatars, it's inappropriate and shouldn't be tolerated. It was against the rules then and it is now. Everyone else, including the bikini pictures, is totally fine. Problem solved.

Some people find a lot of things offensive but that's not the issue that's being brought up in this topic. The problem is making the forum NSFW without a warning. If someone wants to flame that picture in a new topic, go bananas for all I care. I find a lot of shit offensive and say a lot of offensive shit in turn but I know it's my problem and I can deal with it on my own. I don't really care for the bikini pictures at all and find them rather tasteless and annoying but dont' think it's a huge issue.

The softcore/hardcore porn thing was starting to become and issue and if you deal with something that's just sprouting in the back, nobody else knows it's a problem and it'll keep on going on with it w/o anyone even knowing they're doing something wrong. It's like trimming a weed but not removing the roots, it's going to keep coming back and you're make 10 times more work for yourself rather than just attacking the problem at it's core.

mine shows no nipples, bikinis or bare breasts. i swear the rules are gettin ridiculous with claiming porn on something that isnt, its like sayin the victoria's secret catalog is porn.
i find any pose a mithra makes to be objective if thats the case, can we rule those out too?

Basically, I think the main point trying to get across is to help others out who do look at this in the workplace, school or any other place that it may affect them.

You're not losing anything at all by not even putting the pictures up, bikini, huge breast in zoom or anything that may cause someone to walk by and say.. "omg look at what so and so is looking at"

You are actually helping someone out by not having them there, believe it or not, people actually do find that stuff offensive. If you would read alot of people have said and put you in there shoes, you might understand a little more..

For example the guy who works at the school and views on his break, what if he is not liked so much by the kids? I guarentee you at almost any school in america if a student complains on a teacher it is taken seriously and then it may jeapordize his job. One simple complaint from a student passing by noticing a few odd job pictures or even a teacher could cost him his job. People will fire for the most outrageous things, i've been fired for giving my boss's dogs fresh water in the summer. It's dumb, but hey I don't really have a say in what happens, I just work there.. or did work there.

School is the same thing, for the guy who said something about the whole library example I gave, well you obviously didn't go to any high school that took things seriously. Especially now, most american high schools will take immediate action for the slightest things, trust me, I just graduated, i've seen it. Someone farted my sophmore year in class and the teacher reported it to the on campus officer and they wrote him a 300.00 ticket. Not a private school, a public high school.

All across america, things are getting stricter, more serious everyday.

You don't lose the forum by not posting half exposed girls, you in fact help gain the respect of those who it may affect for there personal reasons.

whatever it may be that you post, it's not changing the forum in any shape or form.. just making those random few excited, pleased or entertained.

OK, your arguments are about 20 pages ago. we went through them, the discussion is over and you were never a part of it.
