Oddly enough, this statement backs the moderators more than your case, lol. People tend to forget that QCDN is a privately run message board. You don't have "freedom of speech" here, you have "freedom of speech within the guidelines set by the owner and operators of the site". You don't like it? cope. This is a VIDEO GAME forum, this is not a forum where you can post NSFW pictures of barely-clothed women as avatars, or anything inappropriate for that matter. We all know they will pop up here and there, but to the point of seeing it via avatar in every thread is extreme.

There are other uses for disabling pictures and signatures other than to "block out mature content." For example if someone has a slow connection (who does but that's not the point), the pages on here would load faster if they didn't have to load any pictures too.

None of the mods are going to negotiate with any of you on the matter. If it's something you wouldn't show your mother, consider it something that shouldn't be viewed by everyone who reads a certain user's post.

As it was said in the mod forum, we give you guys an inch, you want a mile - and then bitch about it. Well honestly, too fucking bad. I've had it with this argument. If your avatar, or signature, or anything else is deemed inappropriate by the moderator team, you will be asked to remove it. If not, then we will for you.

And don't twist my words saying this is being "carebare"ish or that we're next-gen Sculli's, because no, we're not. But if that shit gets out of hand again, we will handle it the way we see fit, whether you like it or not.

those are pictures posted once, and usually when those are posted, the threads go downhill and you dont view them. (if you view qcdn often, you understand this part).

avatars perpetually reoccur everytime that person posts, and you dont know when you will scroll down and see them.

qcdn isnt a free for all forum, there have always been rules. and actually, most rules have been very relaxed compared to what they used to be. but that is what happens - you give people a little bit of freedom and they expect that they can do anything. i mean look at signatures, we let the rules go slightly on regulating those and they are all bent to hell on how long and how big all of them are. oh well though.

I'm sure there is a option that blocks avatars from coming up and still allows IMGs to be displayed. I do believe this is why the option was put in in the first place.
