Hello all. I'm not a normal poster, but the original poster's title caught my eye. I have to say I've enjoyed reading the many different points of view.

First off let me say I am a 30+ female and my husband and I run our own company.

I've played the game for a few years, read qcdn a few times and have to this day never taken offense to the avatars or pictures I've seen. Then again I don't pay a whole lot of attention to some of them nor would I get worked up over something I didn't care for, I'd simply turn the page.

As for the pictures being called porn or soft porn.... well I simply don't agree.

Here are some of the pictures we use in our advertising:

Granted these models are a more natural representation of the female body with less enhanced "assets". But, truth be told, it really isn't much different then what I myself saw here. Although, I do admit I don't look here often and did not see the actual pictures displaying nudity that had been posted, which I agree should have been removed.

It is my opinion that a young teen who would find themselves in trouble with parents for the content in these forums, probably has no business playing FFXI at all. Even SE has designed many of the items we wear with a certain amount of sex appeal.

As an employer, I have had to deal with employees and the internet and browsing of actual pornographic sites. In the past we have simply asked them not to do this during work hours and I've had no problems since. I've not had to put any blocks in place or take any additional action.

If I were to let an employee go for the mere fact that they looked at one of these sites during work hours, then I can tell you I probably had other objections to the work being produced by the employee and simply used this as an excuse or to strengthen my argument for dismissal.

I've also had to take a look at my failure to keep said employees busy so that this behavior is not an issue.

I’d much rather see the administrators give clearer definitions to the rules they have set than go with out right censorship.

You close the mouth, you quiet the mind. I’ve seen so many talented and bright minds here. Ultimately we would all miss out if the weren’t allowed to express themselves.

I'm going to dissagree, she's a set of tits in that picture. Nobody's even looking at her face. I don't see how guys can think a rack is sexy without taking into consideration everything attatched to it.

She looks like one of the chicks in the bar I roll my eyes at that all the 19 year olds go after. Nothing more than a fuck toy in that picture.

I'm the same way with guys, I love the male body but really don't give a shit about it if there's no substance attatched to it. I'm not going to bitch that your avatar should be taken down but don't think she's so 'beautiful' and that you like her because 'she's just so dern pretty and tasteful.' I've seen more tasteful images drawn on bathroom walls.

I love beautiful women, both sides of the sexes were blessed with some pretty impressive skin but it's like enjoying a candy for it's wrapper only. Whatever, I'm done with this argument as it's totally rediculous to see a hand full of people go up in arms because they have to take down tasteless avatars that won't affect them in any which way. Where as people enjoying this site from work (which I am now) are scared to open topics they want to read. This site looks like a 13 year olds closet right now.

Word up. And thank you for posting. Also if you feel the avatars of people are going to get you in trouble at work, well then just fucking turn them off. They don't HAVE to show up there is an option to turn them on and off. Well sure it might be a pain, but you have the option so quit fucking complaining. If you're at work you probably shouldn't even be on the boards, so you can turn avs off for the time being if you feel it will be detrimental to your job.

That's a mattor of tastes, and you take an extremely condescending tone in assuming all I care about are her tits, I actually think she's got a gorgeous face, and beautiful hair.

Personal taste is irrelevant, because removing somthing one person finds distastefull we'll end up with nothing. Personaly, I'm not a fan of all the badly done signatures, or the people with 40 relic weapons on one character. Or the MALE equivalent of what we're using. I don't remember nerfing anyones avatar. I remember bitching about the topless chicks and such but don't really remember forcing anyone to take down their bikini skanks.
