well, ive been bored so i figured i would try to get the smn avatars. i got the tuning fork from sandy(home city) and went to bastok next to get fame to get titan. after spending 3-4 hours doing every single quest that doesnt require me to travel all over vanadiel for(no, im not exagerating, EVERY quest) and wouldnt my luck have it, i still cant get the tuning fork. anyone have any suggestions on which repeatable bastok quest to do for fame

Give lettuce to the sheep farmer in selbina. 15-20 stacks should max your bastok and sandy fame with that at a small monitary loss. Buy the lettuce from the regional vendor (not sure who has control of it right now, but probably not Bastok).

yuo can trade boyadha moss, millioncorn, or cabbages to the sheep farmer with the bad english accent in Selbina. It gives both sandy and bastok fame. I believe you only need level 6 fame in bastok to get tuning fork of earth, that is all I needed when I was working on getting mine.

I've heard for a long time that that quest will lower your Norg fame, though, if you're going after Levi too. So you might take it easy on that quest.

I'm doing the same thing right now. I want Fenrir >.> haha

EDIT: I guess I could try and be helpful. From summoner.info

Bastok Fame
1: Trade 1 trent bulb to Salimah in Bastok Market (L-8) between 6:00-11:59am, 200gil.
2: Trade 1 rusty buckets to Foss in Bastok Market (F-7), reward 300gil.
3: Trade 1 Quadav helm to Goraow in Bastok Mines (I-6).
4: Trade many pinches of Zeruhn soot for the quest 'Minesweeper' in Bastok Mines.

Zeruhn Soot is a quick and easy one, and you can level a low level job while you're at it in the Zeruhn mines. All mobs in there drop it but the rate decreases as your level increases, just like most everything else. I suggest that cabbage one, but thats because I don't believe that "lowers your Norg fame" thing because if that were the case, mine would be in the negatives instead of Hero.

Nothing ever lowers your fame. My norg fame remained fine after going to max fame off that selbina quest. Thanks for the explanation deathsveng, I couldn't remember exactly what the three foods were you turn in.

i know for fact it doesnt lower your fame. if you trade the flint stones to the guy in the warehouse, that will go toward norg fame. i guess ill be spending a few hours doing the same quests

Could be. Like I said, just something I heard.

I traded treant bulbs in for hours today. I hate Bastok >.> lol

I'd like to add a question to this....I need Windy fame for Ramuh, Ifrit and Fenrir....can someone tell me a way to do it when Bastok isn't in first for second to do cornettes?

Cornettes is about the only easy way. I did the fish trick in windy port, but that takes forever. You buy fish from the guild, turn one into the taru fish lady, zone out, zone in, repeat. This will take 4-5 hours of boredom to reach the needed fame.
