Now I understand that we have to protect the children since this is a game forum. This being a game forum for a game that you are supposed to be 13 years old or older to play. That said, things should be kept PG-13 or below right? My avatar is from Scrubs. Yes, there's cleavage there and a hot nurse outfit. That show is rated PG and is on during a time children can see it. So, you tell me, is it ok? It seems that we have multiple stances from "leadership" on this. We have the: Bitchy women control me because I'm not a man anymore, Cover them up because I feel ugly, and "I don't like them so I'm going to pretend the masses don't" even though most people don't even give a shit. I understand it's fun to flex your muscle, but let's be honest with ourselves. You pretend this is a game forum, and yet 35% of the people here don't play the game. It's about FFXI, but we have forums for other games. Half of the topics posted don't necessarily involve FFXI. Shit, the ones that even get most of the views don't involve FFXI. They involve jokes, laughing, sharing common interests. Why? That's the reason people even still come here. You think it's coincidence that there's less and less people here, or people posting, or more people quitting? It's because the game is losing interest. So what if people want to post girls in bikini's in their avatars? Appease yourself by hiding behind the masses. Hitler did that too, y'know. Think all of germany hated jews? Nope. But he Appeased himself behind the masses. Majority of the people don't care, but one or some of you do. I'm not defending naked women because I'm a little more mature than to post that. That's crossing the line, but my avatar was hit for what? She's in a bikini. My avatar was hit because she's better looking than 99.9% of women even touching this website or game and we all know... Women are insecure. These avatars bring it out. That's the outlying problem, because straight guys don't mind it. Most homosexual males could care less too. I won't every say 100% because there's nothing unanimous in the world we live in. But damn if it isn't higher than 50% and that, my friends, is majority.

There are other boards which either disallow avatars altogether, or only give a canned selection with no custom avatars... yet all people can do here is bitch when any remote, silly "right" is taken away from them.

Grow up already...

My biggest problem, looking back at it.. is that people were complaining to mods about my avatar, without so much as talking to me about it. If I get a nicely written, polite PM from someone who has a VALID issue with my avatar, 95% chance it's getting changed. Otherwise, suck my balls.
 
Given the options, if I ever have an issue with your avatar, I'll PM you. ^^
 
Let’s look at the facts, shall we?

1. This is a gaming website, not a Beautiful Women Showing Boob Shots website. If you didn’t get that when you came in, then god help you.

2. Many people access this website at school, home, or at the work place and would like/do not want these sorts of things popping up (myself included).

3. According to Chasym, I suck dick and don’t like nipples. I suppose that’s reason enough. Though, we really can't trust him. I mean, he did cheat, lie about it, and then came clean when he didn't have any repercussions about it.. aside from being ostricized by the community that already doesn't like him much.

4. When I questioned Reeve about this, he said that he didn’t want them on the forum.

5. While a majority of the userbase is male, we also have a pretty high base of women as well. How would you like avatars with two men manhandling each other in the butt? Or how about two men kissing? I know a few of you would be upset. Or maybe a pee-pee winking at you from QCDN? Yeah, I’d like to see the lot of you that would be OK with that.

6. This is not a democracy. This is not a “I do what I want” forum. You are subject to rules that are set. No porn is one of those rules. While it doesn’t specify, softcore porn is still… softcore porn. Also, if you missed that on your way in – god help you.

7. We’ve been only removing avatars that people complain about. So far, I haven’t received any complaints about you. Most of the problems were with the avatars that had two girls kissing naked, exposed nipples, exposed butts. There’s a different between womanizing porn and stuff you find on CBS at 7pm.

Well, I think that about covers it.

I don't think my opinion is shared by everyone, but these types of avatars would make me literally laugh out loud. The things people get offended by...

Its been said before but avatars and signatures can show up expectedly and I dont want to fired - or see anyone else get fired or in trouble - because a user has a perfectly pg13 yet still semi-naked chick for thier avatar or a nazi symbol in their sig.

Its pretty simple but theres a 50 page long thread where people cried out "OMG D11cTat0rz41ps!!!" No, its more like an enlightened monarchy but nevertheless there is plenty of content being allowed here that wouldn't be allowed on most other forums. Its a privlege, not a right.
