Avatar sizes.. I mean honestly...

GameFAQs boards should have avs and picture sigs because we all know your posting demographic are mature enough to handle it.

I hope you're joking, heh. Considering the dozens of "suicide" accounts we have to nuke every day I can only imagine the fun of letting them have avatars.

Oh, and Jeff (CJayC, whatever) absolutely HATES graphics on message boards so it'd never happen anyway.

I'm gonna go claim some Commodore 64 and/or Game.com message boards brb

aww... so even if I actually felt like putting my sig up, it would be too big. It's 600x200

Beats the width by 50 pixels.

I really can't. The way I designed it, every pixel matters :x

I'll just eat my own mistake and not use it on this board.

The suicides are the best parts of the forums...

the proportions are correct however, your sig is 118.98 KB and the allowed amount is 50kb.
This is something I don't understand. How would the size of any linked images affect QCDN? I know it would load slower on the client's end, but it's not like images hosted off-site and linked through [ img] tags cost QCDN any bandwidth. I was led to believe that's the only way you can put up avatars & sigs, as both of mine are hosted on my web storage from my ISP and linked to from here... in theory, all bandwidth of retrieving those images should be billed against my ISP, as that's where the image loads from.

Or... does QCDN's server cache external files linked internally and then just deliver from cache upon request? I've never used a web server that does that, but then again I've only effed around with a handful of web servers.

It takes a lot of time to load oversize sigs. Some people are still on 56k modems and when someone's just trying to read a page with 20 sigs at 100k each it's going to take an awful long time

It always bugs me when someone posts themselves in gear they don't have/can't use:

I understand your post about puting stuff on your signature that you dont have.. But i havent seen any signatures that are just blatently lieing

Yes aas of right now i dont have my surcoat but ill get it REALLY soon so i thought i would put it in to look heroic. Now if i put my sig with me in all Valor gear then that would flame myself.

so personaly i think exsaturating a little bit is ok but not too much

A number of people have themselves dressed up in AF and more often Relic when their lvl is in the mid 40s. W/e to each their own, personaly I would much rather show myself in gear I can actualy equip and own instead of gear that I will probaly never own.
