Well sorta... 7 hours of updates to go then I'm back on the ol' Quetzy :) Looking foreword to coming back and enjoying FFXI once again. Anyone I know still play on quetzy?
 
Um i dont think so. i think the whole server migrated to midgar.......ooh wait.

yeah it does. no plugins or anything but it serves its purpose. gotta go into the config file in your start menu to turn it on.

I am going to merit my whm tonight! How do you level sync? So many new things ;; thanks for all the information guys
 
Hey, Reya, do you need a LS? If so, you should join NT. I'm in it so that's already a +10 to the LS.

The party leader turns it on by selecting a member of the party with the level you wanna sync to. that party member's name is marked by a red dot on the right side of the list. The option is in the party menu if you're the leader. If the party leader or the sync member leave the area its automatically turned off after 30 seconds. And if the sync member dies durring a fight and isnt raised before the fight is over no exp is awarded. That covers all the major points i think.

You left before the mini expansions came out, right?
 
Yeah... I relogged back in Zitah where I left Reya and the NPCs are offering me weird stuff for points by the outpost. I have no idea what is going on lol

I did talk to someone about joining a pet LS to embrace my inner PUP. However, it would be really nice to meet back up with some old friends! :D

That's an easy one.
If you are a partyleader you get the option in your party menu to 'Level Sync' from there you pick a player and everyone that is above the level will be synced back to the level of the picked player.
The stats of your gear will also be toned down towards that level, which basically comes down to stats like STR, DEX, INT, and boosts like ATK, DEF and EVA being scaled down.
Additional effects like Auto-Refresh, Cure potency, 'Enhances ... skill/movement speed/dual wield/etc.' will not be taken along in a sync unless the gear is below the level being synced to.

Negative stats however stay the same.
Like when you sync with a Haubergeon, all positive stats will be toned down, but the -5 AGI will stay -5 AGI.

ahhh! Thanks for all the information. Level sync seems like a lot more fun for meriting on my 75s. I remember leveling off of the Tuncan Sams 24/7 in the ToAG areas. Might be a better way to get exp on pup too :)!
 
While I agree with Shirai about augments from the little books scattered across Vana'diel, you may want to look into the ones you get from the fairies in the past. Ususally not worth it iirc but some jobs can get a pretty sweet deal.

last noob question... how does the lvl sync cap thing work for things like bcnms now.. can I take my lvl 75 whm into a bcnm 30 w/o having to buy all lvl 30 gear again or will my 75 gear scale to a 30's?
 
Yes, however a lot of gear you wear at 75 will be as good as useless except for a slight MP boost and maybe some MND.
Good part, whm 75 gear scaled down to level 30 is not that much worse then what is available to the job at level 30.
