Back in the day T.V.

--Thundercats
--He-man
--She-ra
--Old school WWF wrestling: when Hulk was still good and Randy was still with Linda (was that her name?) I loved Brutus the Barber, Hacksaw, Jake the Snake, Coco B. Ware, The British Bulldogs, The Ultimate Warrior, etc. PS: What was that big sumo guy's name who used to spit green stuff in people's faces?
--The Duck Tales (woo-hoo)
--Gummi Bears
--DJ Kat (I actually sent in a picture I drew of him but he never picked it)
--Smurfs
--Snorks
--Jetsons
--non cartoon: Punky Brewster and that show with the little girl and her robot. Ooh and Land of the Lost.

Yeah, I didn't get out much as a child.

I don't watch the new cartoons that are out now. Most are just remakes or based on old cartoons with similar plots but with added "edge" to them.

That's how it is though, artists and creators are just like us. They grew up to the same stuff as us so they base their creations on what influenced them with their own ideas mixed in.

However, its fun remembering the old cartoons you grew up with: He-man, GI Joe (old school version), Thunder Cats, and Loony Toons (Speedy Gonzales, Road Runner, Bugs Bunny, and Tazmanian Devil were my favorites). Then there are the teen cartoons we all know: Captain Planet, Spiderman(old and 1990s version), Superman (1990s version), Batman (1990s version), GI Joe (1990s version), Power Rangers is not a cartoon, but for kids (Live Action). Hell there are too many to name! >.>

Basically though nothings changed, same cartoons with good vs evil, that teaches, has drama and mystrey, and makes us laugh. Show them to your kids! o.o

Ren and Stimpy, amazing!

Little bit of Trivia, Frank Zappa once did a cameo, voicing the pope in a powdered toast man skit.

Dogtanion was pretty fucked up too. And Cow and Chicken? Heck, I remember the pilot where Mr Red was called Satan and Chicken smoked.

I loved Space Ghost, then when Coat to Coast came out, dear god I loved it, even though my folks didn't approve.

SG: Coast 2 Coast was soooooooo awesome.

The Bjork one is my favorite. And Old Kentucky Shark. Hilarious.

OMG how could anyone post in this thread and not mention Pinky and the Brain?

My favorites were Looney Toons (still love them even now that they are no longer run because of political correctness) Johnny Quest, Smurfs, Scooby Doo(lol how did we ever not notice that each cartoon over the course of many years had the exact same plot?) and umm I can't remember the name of the one of my favorites, but it had a large blob and a baby blob (sort of pinkish) and a monky in a space suit plus some humans running around having adventures.. it was in the Thundaar the Barbarian time frame.

Some regular shows I liked when I was a kid:

Mork and Mindy
Fantasy Island
Happy Days
Three's Company
MASH reruns
Wonderful World of Disney
The old Ripley's Believe it or not with Jack Palance.

Ren and Stimpy, Rocco's Modern Life, Cow and Chicken, Courage the cowardly Dog.

Man Nickelodeon had some good cartoons.

Bolded were on Cartoon Network.

Although I agree Ren and Stimpy along with Rocco's Modern Life were some good cartoons.

To person above me:

I watched Happy Days and Doogie Houser when I was like 4 all the freakin time.

The Banana Splits
Grape Ape
Fangface
Mork and Mindy
Josie and the Pussycats
Land of the Lost
Sigmund and the Sea Monsters
Dragon's Lair
Kidd Video
Shirt Tails
Alf
H.R. Pufnstuf

Holy mother of, thank you for posting!

FINALLY someone mentions Darkwing Duck!

Rugrats was alright, but I think it was in the late 90's or so. Oh and Recess lol.

Oh man, I can't believe nobody's mentioned these

The Round House
Are you afraid of the dark,
Hey Dude!
Clarissa explains it all
Salute your Shorts
Kenan & Kel
The Adventures of Pete and Pete
The secret world of Alex Mack

I remember in Hey Dude, when they're calling a radio station to answer a question "What color is a giraffe's tongue?" and the answer was "Black" lol.

And in Pete & Pete, when little Pete eats too much creamed corn and has his stomach pumped, and charges people to see it at the school's dance. The one where he was chasing a song that came down to a single note was amazing too.

Beavis and Butthead

Are You Afraid of the Dark was street. Pete and Pete was my favorite, though. It was actually a pretty smart show, and it could get suprisingly immersive and surreal. I think it could easily stand up to any of its progenies today.

Darkwing. Awoooohoo.

Ta na na... na... Ta na..

na..

na..

Awooo hooo. :D
