My brother is having an issure with his FFXI, so he is going to try to reinstall. But he doesn't want to lose 4 years worth of macros. Is there a way to back up macros on his HD before he uninstalls? I heard something about being able to back them on the server, but that was years ago. Let me know of any ideas. Thanks.

Go to C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\USER and copy all those folders.

That'll back up any settings you have for all the accounts you've ever accessed on that computer.

The backing up to server bit is done at the character selection screen where you see your main and all your mules.

Ctrl-Shift-B backs them up and Ctrl-Shift-R restores them I believe, for whatever character you have highlighted at the time.

Backing up the USER folder is easier though, as it also saves font colours and I think your config settings as well (shadows, weather, etc). Not sure if the char selection backup does that.

Thanks guys, that worked perfectly.
